Thanks for the welcome petrichor ,
Victory, today I got on the scales for the first time since starting my diet (1 week), in that time I have been an angel and have done a 50 min work out each day . So I was gutted when the scales say I am the same weight as a week ago. Remember this is the begining of my diet, I have 2 stone to loose and cant belive nothing has come off at all .
So I know how you are feeling, it is awful but what else is the option ?
    OPTIONS AS FOLLOWS........

    1) Give up and forget it, get fatter and sad. or
    2) carry on doing what you have been doing and WATCH it come off , maybe in 1 week ,2 weeks or 3 weeks..but it has to come off eventually.

    Lets keep each other focused.
    Kindness costs nothing :)

Oh I remember my frist week mirry I was so excited to think I was on the way to all this weight loss, hopped on the scales and lost...absolutely nothing... zero, zilch, nada:rotfl:

I kept to it because I had an awful lot to loose and could no longer justify gaining so stuck with it and the second week was 2 lb and so on....

I will never quit, that is not in my vocabulary, I can do it and I will, just this morning, the devastation of it all over took common sense and logic and I was over run by tears and OMG:eek: :rotfl:

If anything it is another lesson learnt for me and all of us, because I intend to keep the feelings I had this morning in my head versus the feelings I have when I succeed and loose the weight and look to the latter to keep determined and motivated, it has made me all the more focused as I will not be defeated.

    honey you are on!

I was thinking the same about suggs where has he gone?!!

All my family are naturally thin, not one of them has to count calories or watch what they eat that is for sure, so wanting to go to BBQ, Macdonalds, having huge desserts, birthday parties, take-aways, going to family buffets they see all that as nothing, let's go attitude, where as I think oh God no please, not again, what can I eat, what will they serve up? How much will I put on if I have so and so?

My thinking differs so much from their sometimes we clash, them saying what is the big deal let's go like your H and me saying all reasons why they should go and not me:D

Hi Victory - I can imagine how difficult this is for you, however, without wanting to be full of doom and gloom, the fact that your family are naturally thin doesn't protect them from some of the health issues involved in eating a high fat diet - they could have high cholesterol and furred up arteries, which makes them prime candidates for heart attacks and strokes.

Thin does not always equal healthy. Your family members would probably accuse you of jealousy if you were to tell them the above, but it wouldn't hurt them to think about what they're doing to their bodies.

    Well Done Malima :T

Lois does the chart on a Wednesday so if you want included in it each week post your weight loss any day up to then. If you post it after that, then your results will not be picked up until the next week so you will be running a week behind IFSWIM? Good Luck.

Rach - good for you joining the gym - here's to the new toned you

Glad to see you back on form :j Victory. It's so easy for common sense to fly out the window momentarily, despite you telling us how not to worry if the weight doesn't come off or not quickly enough. "Common sense is in spite of, not as a result of education" - Victor Hugo.

rach! - what a great offer at your local sports centre, I'd grab it - let us know how you get on. An hours excercise  when you're not used to it seems like   go you :T

Honey - I know no shame when it comes to pinching folks avatars to use here, they fit perfectly. I've got quite a few stored just waiting for the right moment. I've said it before but I REALLY must get a life :rotfl:

OH and I have both got a bit of a bug thingy, well I have, but he's got MAN FLU  and all tucked up in bed (blimey!!) I've been in the garden to let the fresh air do it's good works.

I was wondering where Suggs was too although he was about towards the end of last week, then I realised that quite a few have disappeared over the past few weeks - a couple of the katies ie poppycat and thrifty amongst others - I hope they haven't given up completely. If they are still reading the thread then...'come back'

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
  • Thinking of joining w/w or slimming world next week, done w/w last year and done ok but thought id give slimming world ago, only trouble is i dont really know much about it, i know theres green days and red days but have no idea what these really mean and what you can eat on each, do you have to weight your food or are you allowed to eat unlimited amounts
need to loose about a stone or a stone an half after ive finished off these easter eggs.
i would like to know the basics before i join so that im not asking obvious questions.
    thanks for any replys

On a green day you can eat fruit , veg ,rice and pasta til it comes out of your ears! On a red you can eat MOST fruit and veg til it comes out of your ears and all the lean meat you can handle! It is swings and roundabouts with these (as most) diets you can have more alcohol with ww! Your best bet is to sign up with a class and tryit for a month.........

It does go deeper than that especially when into food optimizing.....best give it shot to see how you get on...
I would love some decent telly on a Saturday night

yes I am back, good 'ol, full of encouragement for other people me:D

In the MTC loose weight thread someone put on that they had done 45 min cycle and were hoping to do a 30 min cycle after work instead of snacking, I put on there go for it, wish you luck etc and then I read on the change 5 things that I copied and pasted that if you normally walk, change it to swimming or cycling, both ideas joined into one and voila:j I have just finished a 45 min cycle (yes timed it!!) round the block over and over again:j :j If that does not confuse the body and start the metabolism rate again I don't know what will:rotfl: :rotfl:

I started off with my 6 year old then he got bored, then alone and then for the last 20 mins I had three lovely little girls off the estate with me, racing (I was allowed to go first bless them:rotfl: ) and they just kept following me which was brilliant because an 'ol un cannot be seen to loose face:rotfl: :rotfl: so I sped up....the girls were fine with that but I ended up huffing and puffing and now cannot feel my legs:rotfl: :rotfl:

All of this was looked on by my 13 year old who you could see out of the corner of the eye was tutting , embarrased, with all his mates playing football, wishing the floor would open up and swallow him:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Tomorrow I am going to move my food around like the 5 changes say....
