Try this virtual model website for a laugh, you can make her fatter, thinner, change her hair etc https://www.mvm.com

As for your answers honey well I was always thin as young 'un but that was down to loads of exercise, was never in but then the exercise did not seem as such it was just part of being young, cycling, swimming, playing netball, going to parties and not worrying about low fat, what passed the lips etc but years later and 2 kids, the metabolism slows down and has to be worked harder on, much harder to get it up and active and ticking the calories over and out....

I have no calmness now around food it is all about the calories, has it got sugar in, how high is it, how much weight will this put on? What can I then cut down to counter act it? It is a food juggling act every day!!

ARGH i just wrote a big reply to your question honey, but then my computer decided to restart and i lost it all!! grrr...
cant remember what half of it said now, but basically i think i was the same, skinny and young and ate what i wanted (which was mainly chips and doughnuts in school!!) and then it finally caught up with me..and now i'm older i watch what i eat, but as a reuslt of my reckless eating when i was younger i find it hard to have to be strict with myself, and even though i'm careful i'm overweight. I agree with victory that you tend to do a lot more exercise when you're younger too.
    thanks for the link victory

Here's a thought for some discussion - I was thinking earlier about what it was like when I didnt have to worry about my weight..When I was slim and size 8 (granted this was pre children), I didnt watch what I ate, never weighed myself and didnt really worry about whether I was eating low fat foods or not. I ate what I wanted to eat, when I wanted to eat and generally stayed the same size. How come now that I am thinking about every mouthful that passes my lips, conscious about buying low fat foods etc I am heavier and overweight:confused: Are low fat foods and diets making me overweight :rotfl: Is this just "life"? If so, I want to go back to not worrying about what I am eating and being slim :rotfl:

I'm quite envious of anyone who has had the experience of not having to worry about what they eat, because my weight has been a problem for me all of my life. I was an overweight toddler, I was bullied at school because I was fat, and from the age of about 8, I remember asking my mum why I was different to my family and friends, and how I could lose weight. My mum had the opposite problem - she was always underweight - and didn't really know what to do. She made me cut down on potatoes and bread, but she had a very sweet tooth and used to add sugar to things that didn't need it (like soft drinks and fresh fruit  ). She bought me Energen rolls to replace bread, but I used to pile loads of butter on it to make it palatable :o (the box probably had more taste!).

I've spent my whole life either being in denial - i.e. 'I don't care if I'm overweight, this is who I am, take me or leave me' - or on any number of different diets, which have been successful in the short term, but I'm still overweight. So Honey, maybe your theory is correct - it's diets and reduced fat food that make us fat!

My daughter has accused me of being obsessed about dieting, and claims that she had an eating disorder because of it, so to those of you with young daughters (or sons for that matter) be careful you don't make them worry about their weight as a result of worrying about yours.

On the positive side, I have the sweetest husband who has put up with all my faddy diets and still loves me regardless of my size :D

    Afternoon all

Hope you all had a great Easter.

Sorry for leaving you for a few days, I was busy with the children, my three arrived on Thursday lunchtime, add them to Mrs Suggs two children and it was a busy weekend :)

Friday we went to London for the Science and History museums, came home via a wetherspoons in Tower Hill. Saturday was a trip to my parents and gardening (first cut) Sunday was gym and dinner for 7! Monday I cooked pasta bolangise for 7! Dropped my children off late Monday, got home, went to bed, up and then a all day Sales meeting in Sutton Coldfield :o

Thanks to you all for missing me :D Made me feel wanted in a nice way. Yes I did have fun with Mrs Suggs ;) No I wasnt chained to sink :)

I have had a little chocolate on Sunday, but the Hotel Choc Easter egg Mrs Suggs bought me (naughty girl) is still sitting there all wrapped up, mind you so is the egg I bought her :) Eating wise I have been pretty good, though on Saturday I had a bad day, in that I barely ate all day, no particular reason, just didnt feel like it. Then Sunday only had some toast, went to the gym, glugged some apple juice afterwards and I will leave to guess what happened next

Well done to you victory on your cycling, as the saying goes every little helps :j Lois your last note struck a cord with me, my mum tried to put me on a diet while I was in my teens and I do believe that the card is better tasting than the rolls :) like your OH Mrs Suggs is amazing, though she did talk to me over the weekend as she was concerned I was getting obsessive with the eating, I was only trying to shift the Cardiff Gain :o

Anyway I havent had time to read through all the posts I missed, I do apologise. But well done to all losers and maintainers. If you gained dont worry or panic, time will pass and so will the weight.

I feel really guilty now, so the result from the MK Boots is a loss of 9lb :j Which clears the Cardiff Gain and some. Please bear in mind that it is a loss of 6lb since the weigh in before Cardiff (3 weeks ago) I am pleased as I got really motivated in the last ten days or so, went to the gym most days, including Easter Sunday. Lois I understand if you would prefer to give SOTW to someone else, as my loss is not a true reflection of a week. :)

All in all I am 6lbs away from my bikini moment, I will still be big but would love to do it before I go on club tour to Weymouth on May 4th.

    Have a Good Day all

Nice to have you back Suggs that is an amazing weight loss, well done, the gym is doing wonders for you:j :j

I vividly remember going on my first diet when I was 12, we lived in Spain and my parents sent me back to U.K for the summer, my grand parents were elderly and did not really know what to do with me so fed me....loads:D I was allowed anything and everything in wheelbarrow loads, when I got off the bus that brought me back home my mum straight away shrieked and put me on a diet the very next day (early septenber!)until xmas eve.

When I was at school I was in a netball team, we went cycling for the day, up mountains, ran, swimming, played tennis, we were always out doing something, never was it like now where you clock watched your exercise timings, it just was part of life, being active constantly and eating whatever was put in front of us.

My mum always has been obsessive, to her it is about image (over 80 now) and you HAVE to be slim, there is no other way, she is one of those irratating people that eat like a bird, refuse a proper portion of cooked food and then will go on and on how lovely yours looks etc and will pick off your plate...I hate that:D My mum is also a believer that thin people suffer no illness, heart attacks etc but as the OP kindly pointed out thin people can also get ill....

I am as I am now through laziness, exercise has to be incorporated within the family workings, before it just happened naturally, habit, boredom and lack of portion sizes....

As I have said before my entire family do not have any weight issues, my sister is older than me a size 6 in waist and size 3 in shoes, drinks like a fish and eats whatever (usually packet meals as she is very busy at work) my sister would not know what a low calorie meal was!! My H walks to work (6.5 miles away there and back:eek: ) two or three times a week so he can eat whatever, the kids and extended family all look like bean poles!!

I will agree with the Lois about taking it down the family tree with the obsession of it all, my 13 year old came home near to tears from school the other week, the kids were taunting him he was over weight (an average 13yr old boy should weigh 7 stone 3 lb and he weighs 7 stone precisely!!) and so he decided to eat like me.... but his was lettuce and lots of it, refusing everything else:eek:

He has got over it now and I am very open with them that this weight issue is mine and mine alone that they can eat all their easter eggs, enjoy their dinner, have cakes and it will not affect them because they are super active.
If they want a take away they can have it, I do the 80% good, 20% bad with them and they know the goodness food can bring and what is not so good to eat.

Welcome Back Suggs  and WOW - 9lbs - Fab :T

Took little miss honey to Tesco with me as master honey was away to cinema. Several hissy fits later (at sweets aisle, cereal aisle and bakery aisle to be precise) we are home and I don't know which way is up, nor what I have bought:rotfl: Thank goodness school is back next week

You should remember honey that healthy eating people are only allowed down the first 3 aisles:rotfl:

The supermarket lay out is such that when you go in the 1st one is usually fruit/veg then meats and yoghurts, dairy, milk, no need to go further in because then you come to the crisps, cereals, biscuits danger aisles:rotfl: :rotfl:

My kids know there is nil to zero chance of them getting sugar laden cereals for their brekkie so have given up asking now:rotfl: :rotfl:

We have just been to Tesco, I walked up and down determined to find nice sweet alternatives , ended up buying skinny cow lollys.....dont know syn value (must get an up to date book) but it says less than 3% fat and 86 cals which isnt bad cos my kids got the crunchie lollys which are 13% fat.

As for my hormones, I have taken 2 tablets called Aqua ban to help get rid of any water I may be retaining, since taking them (2 hours ago) Ive had 4 wees so it seems to be helping, lol.
    Kindness costs nothing :)
