Well done malima on the walk:D I am a mini celebrity round here, when I get the bike out all the kids gather and run off to ask their mums if they can go round and round the block with 'that lady':rotfl: :rotfl: I was a size 18/16 when I started, cycling is good for you, I drew the line at going swimming as I thought it would be scary for the others to look at:eek: so took up cycling, started off just me and my 6 year old but then word got out that I needed to loose the weight and I was doing it for that all the little girls started joining me (letting me go first bless them) and we went round the estate pied piper style:rotfl:

What a lovely picture this created in my mind - and what a motivator, knowing that if you get on your bike you will have your followers, which must encourage you to cycle maybe just a little more than if you were on your own.

We are always saying how important excercise is but what is also important is to find a type of exercise that you enjoy, is fun and which you can include as part of your get healthy programme.

Well done - you have it sussed and it's paying off!

Well done on the new clothes Victory :T:T I love to read your posts, especially to hear about your cycling epics - has me giggling :D

I'm going to start going running (knee permitting) DH has brought me home a "learn how to run" programme. Walk a min, run a min etc. Will get a good bra so no black eyes and start as soon as!

Can you share your secret of your home made coleslaw??

I love the calorie calculator, gives me incentive to walk the dog quicker!

I think I need to exercise loads, I went out for my work's chinese on Friday and we all just shared meals, so I thought I'd have a diet free evening...started again on Saturday morning but then we went to a BBQ that evening! At least that wasn't too bad, I filled my plate with salad stuff before I went to get the meat, so there wasn't much space! And I took a dessert I could have, so that was OK.

All in all, not the best start to the weekend, but I've been out with the dog and clambered all around, then had to bath the mutt afterwards - that must have used up as many calories as the walk!!

I think I'm looking forward to weighing in tomorrow, hopefully the good work I did during the week will make up for the bad weekend!!

Cabbage/carrot/red onion/ shredded in the whizzer with 0% fat greek yoghurt and waistline salad cream(2 parts yoghurt to 1 part salad cream saves the calories!!) with black peppercorns pulverised and sharwoods mild curry powder for a little kick, I eat it all the time and have experimented with hellmans extra light mayonnaise, did not like that so much, makes it very dry, my H likes apples and raisins in his, I don't as it adds to the calories and the sugar content so one for him and one for me!!

I did try it once with balsamic vinegar (yuck!!) I keep changing it but at the mo, the mild curry powder adds a different slant to it....

Well it can't be water retention then, have you drank loads of water? Have you been keeping a food diary? I would take a fresh look at what you eat, your exercise, whether you wore the same clothes at the same time of the morning on the same scales....

Hi Malima - you know you shouldn't weigh yourself midweek, but now that you have, try not to worry about it, keep to your plan, don't go mad and comfort eat or anything like that, and by the time you go to class again, I'm sure the 2lbs gain will have turned itself miraculously into a loss. You've stuck to the plan 110%, so this is just down to the peculiarities of the human body, which fluctuates from hour to hour, day to day.

Throw away your scales, or get someone to hide them for you, and just stick to your weekly weigh in, on the same scales, at the same time of day and in the same clothes! :)

Hi Mel and welcome - you're in! A very friendly crowd here and very supportive whatever you get up to (even if like me you're up and down like a yo yo and after a good start at the beginning of the year has not done well.

If you ask nicely Lois will add you to the weight loss chart - just post your weight loss (doesn't matter what day but I think she updates the list on a Wednesday) and as if by magic it appears on here.

There's also the May weight loss challenge - think it's 5lb is that right? Read all the posts but get confused sometimes, must be my age  To add yourself to the cut and paste the list below and add your name.

I have maintained this week which is a bit of a miracle as I have done too much eating and drinking - but had a good time :D TIme for business now (please please will someone give me a hard time about this, really need to get back on track and people are so nice but think I need a bit of harsh treatment  ) I should have lost the 4lbs I put on in Australia by now at the very least...

Anyway, was seeing someone briefly before Easter and he broke it off because felt the distance was a problem (only 50 miles although some on the M25 - not ideal but do-able) Anyway, he has been in touch, thinks made a mistake and would like to meet up again. Very excited :j so am going to have a very good day today as I know even that will get rid of some of the rubbish in my body and make me feel better even if the pounds won't jump off so quickly!

Big smile on my face and good motivator, the thought of seeing him again. Hope it goes well though or I will be back on here saying I've hit the chocolate :confused:

    Trying to think positive.

    Have a good day everyone
