Petrichor - well that certainly gave me a chuckle (a good one reading it - not such a positive one when I was carrying out the instructions: good job noone could see me, would have wondered what on earth I was doing! Think I am back on track now! Did have a good day yesterday even though I went out to dinner....

Thanks for good wishes Petrichor, Rachelmk and Victory - trying to play it cool but I'm not good at it (would think I was 20 something not 40 something - this dating lark doesn't get any easier!). Having arranged to see 'the man' (have to think of an appropriate pseudonym....) tonight in London he rang yesterday and said why didn't we dirve and meet in the middle. I didn't fancy driving (M25 on bank holiday Monday in pouring rain - no thanks) so he drove over to me! :j Result! A two hour round trip so he did put himself out.

Had a really enjoyable evening - and I promise I did TRY to be cool. Only had 2 glasses of wine as he was driving and only had one beer so that helped stop alcohol related over eating! DId alot of talking and I am feeling very positive - and going up to town tonight still to see him as previously planned. I am going to be SOOO good on my eating today. ANd I am going to keep that image of my behind in my head when I fancy chocolate!

Sorry to go a bit off post but a bit excited (can you tell :rotfl: ) and can't really ring any of my friends at this time of morning to talk about it!

Good luck everyone with your weigh ins.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Hey guys!! It seems as though most of you are doing really well.

Honey - glad to see you didnt leave. Are you feeling any more motivated?

Can I just ask that for any of you that have a friend or know of somebody with a thyroid condition, can you get them to look at this website?

    http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

It really has been a mine of information for me & I know that a lot of people who suffer from it dont get the support they need from the health care professionals, and this has a fab message board too. (something else to keep me away from doing my actual work!!)

I had my 2nd appointment on Sat and thankfully it hasnt developed into Hashimotos, but I am deficient in Iron, B12 & my thyroid levels are at the bottom end of "normal" so the doc is going to try me on some new drugs. Pretty scary as I have been taking my current ones for 26 years, but I am willing to give it ago. Didnt realise how I shouldnt have any symptoms if my medicine was actually working, I thought it was "normal" to still feel like that.

Anyway, I wont go on about the health side of things as I am probably talking in a foreign language!!

I am still going to the gym & I have dropped a dress size which I am pleased about and am a lot more toned. So at least something is happening despite the scales still not moving. I've lost 3 inches from my hips at least which is fab. :j :j

I've also managed to jump back on the wagon after a bad food day (or days) which is something I never managed before, and usually I would just let my hard work all go to waste and be back at square one.

4 weeks til HK so that is a big motivation, I am really scared that when I travel again my eating habits will go back to how they were & I'll pile back on the inches, will really have to focus & keep up the exercise (not one for running outdoors but will have no choice!!).

    Sorry for rambling.

Please please pass the link onto anyone you know.

Have a good day & good luck with your mini challenges.

    xx

    Hello all!
Hope you are all feeling well this morning!

I've managed to gain 1.5lbs this week:mad: It's hardly surprising though, as I've been feeling rotten since last Thursday, and I went to a party on Saturday... So annoyed with myself! I thought I'd done really well as I've had no appetite with this cold, but no, it appears that my body has decided that I'm 'starving'. Sometimes it's all a bit rubbish isn't it? Can't even go to the gym as my cold has now settled in my chest...not good.

Anyway, sorry to ramble on in a self-pitying way. Once I've got shot of this cold my spare tyre should watch out!

To all of you lovely people, thanks for being there :T

A big WELL DONE to everyone who has managed a loss this week!

    Cheers
    D.

(Off to feel sorry for myself under the duvet...until my 2 year-old wakes up...)

well done retiredlady and petrichor fantastic results:j :j

Lois lane you start the thread, you are fantastic at what you do and we all know we will be in safe hands if you do it, if I did it we would be lost without trace!!!

Ishtar be positive at least it is not masses of weight and you can easily shift that back off again, so chin up and onwards and upwards !!

thrifty dating is a mine field old or young, I hope it works out for you, act cool as you are doing and don't see him as your last chance and you will be fine!!

Not that I am really doing either but people around me have said to me that WW is easier to follow than SW but that is their personal opinion, I have read many WW books and recipes and they seem lovely and easy to do, having said that though my friend swears by Rosemary Conley books and recipes, so who knows....!!!

I'm glad you saw the funny side of it, when I reread it later I wondered if it could have been a bit offensive to some, but I must admit that it came from experience :o; I was feeling a bit smug once until I did it and it's helped to keep me on the straight and narrow since....isn't it gruesome!!!!!

I'm glad that everything is going well with the current potential .....sounds like a good one....does he have a friend?????:D

I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Thanks Victory...you're absolutely right - if I wasn't feeling so rough I would probably have taken it on the chin and not let it phase me. I'm back on the points today and determined to stick to the plan all week, so will hopefully see a good result next week....if not, I'll want to know why!!

I'm off to do some menu planning which is a nice quiet thing to do on the sofa...

    Take care all

    Morning all!

Am back after a lovely break in Suffolk. While I was there came across a book called Fat Girl Slim - was actually very good and full of realistic stuff like recognising not everyone can eat dinner before 6 p.m. in the age of commuting, and not everyone can *face* breakfast, even if it is good for you. I'd highly recommend it!

A 2 llbs loss this week - goodness knows how - I'd say caramel snack-a-jacks have more than helped.:D

Well done to all who've lost this week!
