Lose Weight 11

Yeaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!:j
It finally happened - 2lbs off!!!!!
About flipping time! Have stayed the same or lost 1/2 lb here and there but this week I have not particularly bothered about dieting but amazingly have not gone bonkers with food and have had a lot more exercise than normal - just walking the dog faster and for longer or going for little jogs in preparation for the race for life in July.
Was just about to give up entirely and reconcile the fact that size 12 was me! Wanted to get back into a comfortable 10 and that means losing about another 6lbs or so. I was a good size 14 a little while ago (before I joined you here) and so the difference is now showing. My size 12's are loose but still need a bit more off before 10's fit easily.
I'm thinking about bookinga holiday so the thought of having to flop around a pool in what is basically just your underwear is incentive enough to keep trying.
Thanks to you all!!!!!
Feel much better about myself now -was having a right old wobbly week.
The sun has just come out in Manchester and all is well with the world!:T0 -

Thank you to all for the kind welcolm, Ive had a bad week, Im just starting to try & get a grip on my bad eating habits, that makes me aware of what Im eating but I eat more rubbish than ever for some weird reason,....like i'd eat lots of bad stuff telling myself the next day Im on a diet....then next day I dont do to well either. I was going to give up trying to loose weight (im just on the obease mark for my weight & height) as just dont think I can change my cravings for sweet stuff & looking through the house for hidden 'treats' I even ate a bar of chocolate whilst doing the supermarket shop during the week.
I love the sound of the 5lb challenge & its a very possitive goal & just for a month, hopefully we will all loose many pounds. I think this may be better for my weight lost with a date in mind but not a huge sounding amount to loose too. Ill give this a go before giving up the will to try & loose weight.
Welcome to the newbees too.0 -

Hi everyone - I am back from my holiday in Malta - not too much damage done hopefully. At least I am not dreading weigh in on Monday!:o
Thought I should put my name down for the May challenge even though I am going away again for 12 days to Holland/Belgium in a couple of weeks time. That should keep me on the straight and narrow!!
I have managed to skim through the last 2 weeks postings - WOW!! - the things that happen when I leave the country!
Hope everything is settled now (Sugs if you need anyone sorting out I know some people if you catch my drift)
Also a thank you to Lois for a nice welcome home message waiting for me - it really made me feel welcomed and part of the group - and to be honest it made me go back to my SW plan straight away instead of waiting until Monday!:A Thanks again Lois:T

Evening All :hello:
:T :T Well done rachelmk 2lbs off :T :T I think we can all learn from your post that by changing just some small things can makes a difference to our weight loss. Don't sell yourself short, keep the size 10 in mind and get that holiday booked!!!to keep you focused, and as for even thinking about giving upwell......and that goes for....
oldgot toostop thinking about giving up!! It takes a while to get into good habits, but keep going and try and do things that will keep you busy and thereby not thinking about food. Too many people fail because they are forever thinking about the next meal. Try not to buy foods that you know you will pick at or will be tempted by, I say that from experience. I'm glad you've put yourself down for the challenge, I've found these to be a real help, but don't worry if you miss the target (which you won't) I missed the other month and it really strengthened my resolve to succeed the next month, and it worked. Take it all in small steps, and like racelmk just change a small thing at a time. Remember that if you feel tempted to be naughty, just come here and read the posts for inspiration
:j Hey Marion Welcome back :j , glad that you had a great holiday. I detected a hint of smugness in your post, good for you, but if you've gained, so what! It'll soon come off 'you globetrotter you'

Well done Rach
I agree with petrichor....oldgot giving up is not an option, in my book it says if you have the foods that are calling you, will that take you further away from your goal or closer? If they are junk, high calorie, processed foods then further away and if they are healthy and low fat, sugar and calories then closer....
You want to be closer, get rid of anything that tempts you, it is not needed, fill the fridge with muller light yogurts, fromage frais, fat free greek yogurt, cucmbers, salad stuff, get loads of veg in, fresh fish, high fibre crackers, brown bread, basmati rice, brown pastas, read up on the WW free foods and fill up on them...
You don't have to feel that you are starving, that you can't go on, just learn to eat the right foods and it will work for you...
Every single bad habit can be change to a good one....the person that created the bad habit can make a positive, life changing good one, once the bad is knocked on the head, the only thing left is good...0 -
I wanna join! :j :j :jI've lost over 100lbs in two years, I can be debt free too.0

sandanista You are very
to join us all here. Please tell us about yourself, what sort of plan you're following, if any, because I think that between all of us here we've got most of them covered
. If not, then we can make it up as we go along. We all know what it's like and have suffered the highs and lows etc etc many times.
I hope you enjoy it with us and be successful :j
Off now as Mac Taylor (CSI NY) beckons in a few minutes

Evening everyone,
malima - Have you had a walk around your estate yet? The picture I have in my mind of Victory doing it just makes me chuckle to myself with all the kids running along with her. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You sound very positive so you go girl! Well done on your 1.5 lb loss. :j :j Edimew - hope you have a great weekend. rachelmk - That's a great loss well done. :j :j oldgot - don't give up trying, all the time you are at least trying you will not be putting on pounds. I know exactly how you feel and have lots of bad days but at least my weight isn't going up any higher. Like petrichor said when you are in need of inspiration just come and read through the threads here. This is what I do and it really does help. retiredlady - welcome home. Hi sandanista and welcome.:hello:0 -
Just gone a bit berserk on Amazon and haved ordered a stack of fitness DVDs for leaping around at home to.:j
Incuded in this spending binge was the Vicky Entwistle one (Janice Battersby) - has anyone done it? What do you think?
Its nice to see a "normal" person losing weight and getting fit - i.e. not 6ft tall and supermodel (I think she's only 5ft3 - I feel tall at 5ft5!!)
Will let you know how I get on with it. Also ordered the Nell McAndrew one - she's quite impressive as she can actually run marathons and hasn't just made a DVD to cash in. I think that one's a lot tougher but no pain no gain!
Have also decided to count calories from tomorrow as I'm a bit complacent with the SW green days (veggie) and wondered if a change would help. Anyone else counting cals? How many do you try to stick to? I only want to lose about another half a stone (I'd love to lose a stone but know that I won't be able to keep it off).
Any advice would be great!!
Thanks

Hi rachel. I count calories and according to slimming magazine women who have more than 3 stone to lose should eat 1,750 cals, 1-3 stone should have 1,500 cals and less than 1 stone should have 1,250 cals. I usually eat about 1,500 every day but have more weight to lose than you.:D0
