Ms London -Sorry you have taken offence by your post being "writen off". I am quite sure that is not the case, its a very busy thread and several others have been merged in with it recently so it probably just got caught up in the busy-ness off it all and over looked. I'm sorry to hear that you have been having problems with your thyroid, I hope you can get some answers and some help when you have your next appointment. Good Luck with it. It's hard enough to lose weight at the best of times, never mind when you are fighting against medical conditions - I hope things start to get better for you - stick around and let us know how you get on :grouphug:

Debbie - I was also going to suggest the rice krispie buns - we made some at the weekend and DH brought them into work and the kids had some in their lunch boxes. I think that they also were sick looking at them :D I asked people not to buy my kids them this year but no-one seemed to listen - annoying really as I kept my side of the deal and bought tshirts from Asda for all the ones I buy for

    Morning all

Ms London, sorry for missing your post, I personally have been very busy of late, No excuse for missing you out, but can the fact I am the male of the species help?

Anyways very quickly as I have a meeting to dash of to, having already seen the dietictian this morning, and its my birthday today :) anyways I lost 5lb this week or rather last couple of weeks after the maintians (1 pound away from target) I definatly on a slow slow quick slow slow drop off plan at the moment, very frustrating it is too.

This weekend I am away in Weymouth on rugby club tour, (anyone in weymouth) Items I have to take with me - address label, postcard of Milton Keynes and stamp, hat, beer mat and a musical instrument :) oh yes and we are playing in a four team tournement on saturday, so I will not be weighing myself next week. But I will weigh myself Friday morning, just in case I hit target!

    Have a good day all

Hiya. First time I've been back since I posted (post #806) and beanielou - you were the only one who seemed to notice my post, so thank you very much!!

I wasnt asking anyone for medical advice, but some words of encouragement or support would have been nice - we all know how hard dieting is and it helps if you can "talk" to others in the same boat (with or without a thyroid condition), it must have been something I said?

Anyway, I have been to a specialist to seek advice & it seems my condition has worsened, but at least it (hopefully) means it can be fixed. Still waiting to hear...

Perhaps it was something I said but I hope that when YOU post here for help next time, feeling very low, I hope that someone does help & not just write you off.!

Have a nice day guys! xx

    Hi ms_london

I do indeed remember your orginal post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=4912983&postcount=806 and please let me reassure you it wasn't ignored, the fact was that I didn't know really what to say. As I didn't know anything about Hypothyroidism I 'googled' it and read quite a bit about it on various sites, and learnt about the debilitating effects that it can cause etc. I even read about TSH results because you had mentioned yours http://www.gravesdiseasecure.com/tshresults1.html ,not that I was any the wiser; and also that the problem can be regulated by taking a thyroid hormone, but that this can lead to problems too. It made me realise how lucky I am to have just a 'normal' weight problem.

However I also clicked on the link in your signature and on looking at your photos http://www.getjealous.com/getjealous.php?action=showimage&image_id=2135366&go=coops1980 I didn't see the overweight person that I expected, but a very pretty young lady.

So, as I said above, I didn't know what to say to you other than the usual diet encouragement etc because you seemed so 'down'. I wish now that I had, but it still seems unadequate. I think that other folk here may have felt the same.

Are you still in Oz? As I understand, not ever having been there (poisonous spiders!! and snakes!!) that the wide variety of food styles makes it a dieters dream. Do you still do the gym work? By choosing low-fat foods and exercising you should lose any excess weight, perhaps not at the rate you would like, but it will come off.

Please stay with us and let us know how you get on.

    xxxx
