Now look here Petrichor *wags finger* - you know the rules about mid week weigh ins...! ;) Seriously, it could be a completely different story by tomorrow morning, so try to think positively. And even if it's not the result you're expecting, you need to come back here for a boot up the bum, or some friendly support, so never mind 'perhaps'. :)

Hello Pot this is the kettle, Kettle this is the Pot :p

Petrichor, you know you shouldnt have, (but then so did victory) The reason we weigh once a week is that the body's own weight changes day on day, even if your been 100% perfect, I can promise changes. Personally I seem to have slipped into my slow, slow quick, slow slow pattern again, It happened last autum as well. So when it does drop it will be a sudden drop. Well it better do! So if your not out of that corner, do I have to come and get you? :)

What a fabulous bunch you are :A and of course you are all so right, it's made me feel ashamed to say that when I weighed myself this morning I had lost 1.2lbs which meets this months 5lb target. It really is strange, because on Saturday I was 0.8lb heavier than last Monday  but as you so rightly point out our bodies do vary and I know this, but when it happens to me common sense just flies out the window.

So let this be a lesson to you all do not weigh yourself between weigh-ins. As punishment I've given myself one of these 4ynvo0g.gif .

Although, to me as a mere slip (and I use that word in it's loosest possible sense :rotfl: ) of a female, I don't find Suggs' threat as much to be feared, who amongst us lovely ladies here would not like to be dragged out of a corner by a strapping Rugby Player. I'm sorely tempted to go back in :D

    Mornin all!

Can anyone tell me how many calories are in the average shot of vodka, and a bottle of britvic orange juice?

Hope someone can help - then I'll know whether to go on the diet coke for a while to help me lose a bit more, a bit quicker

According to my book vodka 40% proof 30ml = 65 cals As for the britvic orange I am not sure but unsweetened orange juice is 72 per glass (200g) not sure about diet coke but it will be on the back of the can. Hope this helps! :rotfl:

    Hi Again

    I totally forgot my manners

Well done to Rachelmk :T 1/2lb in the right direction, and I second Lois in that 'giving up is not an option'....

... and :T to Edimew 2lbs, great stuff.

e1xt5jh.gif*debbie* I've found great success with the help of this thread, like you I'd been to (WW) classes in the past although I did reach goal weight, but this time I decided to 'go it alone' as I knew what to do and only eventually went to class to get weighed. So put the money that you would have paid, into a pot and you will soon see it mount up, and by the time it's your 40th birthday you'll be able to give yourself a huge treat :D (See my sig) and 'good luck'.

Wardy According to my little book a pub measure(25ml) of vodka is 51 cals and a 113ml bottle of Brivic orange juice is 51 too. So that's 102cals per drink :o When I used to have a spirit and mixer I had 'Schweppes' low calorie orange, that could halve the calories each time :D

Blimey I am busy, what with all this and jumping up and down in my badger suit r6lhxxn.gif Yes that really is me inside it :rotfl: :rotfl: I should lose loads next week. I feel I must help as a form of repayment for all the help given to me.

    Hi to everyone!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. This week, I've set myself some small targets to aid my weightloss.

    a) Only one treat a day (up until recently I have been having three, four or five *treats* a day)
    b) One glass of wine with a meal
    c) No biscuits with my morning cuppa.
    d) No snacking on nuts!! (hehe!)

Was wondering what day weigh in day is, or is just a week from when we join?

From What I`ve read Vodka and Diet Coke = 68 calories compared to over 200 calories in a pint of Fosters!

So in my eyes you can have 3x the amount of Voddy and Diet Coke to a pint, which is good news, but sadly not soo good for the purse!

Hi Neko - the targets are a good idea, it does help to focus the mind!

Weigh in day, if you're weighing yourself at home, is Wednesday. If you go to a slimming club, just post the result on whatever day you go.

Boy, what a long thread! I've just read the last 4 pages and like *zippy* have been swept over here when the original DFW weight-loss thread was moved.

I'm not really overweight as such, just a bit flabby after not being active for about the last six months - I've gone from being a weight training, mountain biking, skiing maniac to just lying around with no energy doing not too much. I'm not sure how this happened, it seemed to just creep up on me.

I'd like to start a fitness regime though and sort myself out. Is this the place to do it, or are there other threads?? (as I said before, I haven't really ventured out of the DFW and MFW boards before) :)

Hi and welcome to the show, there are a few of us that make visits to the gym all of different abilites and fitness levels so please feel free to stop and chat and ask the questions.

I tend to hit the gym 5 or 6 times a week, doing on average 40-50min of CV work. I have been doing this for over a year and its part of my plan on weightloss. I had a minor knee op in Novemeber and added swimming into the plan for a while. I will add the swimming back in a few weeks, now the rugby season has finished :)
