Morning all,
Welcome taggiesgirl, msflowerfairy and *zippy*. Hope you like it over here, you'll get plenty of support and help so we'll help you meet your targets.
lottyxx:T
:rotfl: hazzie123. Congrats and GL for your wiegh-in.
After admitting on Friday that I wasn't eating enough FF I've had a few more bad days. Went to see Elkie Brooks on Friday night and didn't take any sweets in with me!!! That in itself is a first 'cos I always take sweets into the threatre / cinema. However when it got to the interval we went for a smoke and didn't go back so I ended up in the pub a lot longer than I originally planned.
Had 4 halfs of lager and was going to stick to lager because I get bored with it and can't drink much more than another half when the landlord gave me a drink to try saying 'if you like it I'll start selling it'. It was lovely - Barcardi, Tia Maria and dry ginger. I... lost... track... of... several... hours
I'd like to say it wasn't my fault but no one sat on me and poured the rest of the drinks down me but I know I switched from lager to this new drink. I was soooooo ill yesterday :rotfl: . Was mid afternoon before I could face some cereal then later (much later) I had a pitta with cheese and coleslaw.
So going to try to eat properly today. I must, must start eating more. Sunday is usually my free day when I go out at night and do not count the vodka and tango but I've already told my OH I'll not be drinking tonight. To be honest I don't think my stomach is ready to forgive me for Friday yet :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day today and I'll catch you all later0 -
Hello
Id like to join the loose weight forum.
Im 2 1/2 stone above my 'average' weight.
Had a bad car accident which left me inactive & unable to walk, I can now walk & have returned to work. Although Ive managed to put on nearly 2 stone. I cant run, just walk, & want to start swiming but too embarrassed because of how I look.
I was going to join slimming world last week, went to the wrong venue, got to the correct venue & they were into the optimising part & I just stood behind the door & didnt go in as the sign outside said new starters need to be at the club the 1st 1/2 hour.
Have managed to get an idea of what the plan seems to be about, found an old thread here which said you put the website password on this thread, but I cant see where it is yet. So Im hoping to join you all & try & shirt some weight.Going to try with out the slimming world club just try it on my own & see if I get any results.
Hello all....0 -
hi everyone.
Had a bad bad day yesterday as the OH and my housemate decided to go for a sweetie run to asda, and i ended up eating 2 jam doughnuts! (get that stick out!) a cream egg and 2 glasses of wine!
well, conveniently enough i have decided that yesterday was my 'high calorie day' for this week (have been managing to stay below 1600, despite time consuming calorie counting getting on my nerves - cant care less how many cals are in a dollop of ketchup but have persevered and recorded the cal content of everything that's passed my lips, including fruit and veg which i usually allow as free food due to vitamins/water content/5 a day etc)
So back on track today. got some lovely low fat healthy sandwich ingredients in the fridge for lunch, which will be eaten once i've done some more work. Deadline is looming and i am determined to finish all my work by 7pm tonight!!
Welcome oldgot and all other newbies, hope you find this thread helpful and enjoyable! oldgot i dont do SW but some of the regulars do so hopefully they'll be able to offer some advice.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

:hello: Hi and welcome to taggiesgirl, msflowerfairy, *zippy* and oldgot.
By the way oldgot I don't think we are allowed to put passwords on here anymore.:sad:0 -
Welcome everyone, well done Lotty hope you are all as looking forward to your dinner as I am, I am starving;)
Went to the car boot sale today and got lots of clothes for the summer size 14 so am well chuffed with the cheapness and that they are finally 2 sizes smaller:j :j They still feel funny on but that will come in time....0 -
Just a quickie to let you know that I've lost a measly half a lb this week.
I'm hoping that all of the exercise is converting me into a firm lean toned person (!!) amd that the lack of weight loss is now solid muscle! Have gone for 2 hour long walks with the dog today and succumbed to an icecream in the nice weather (perhaps that's why there's only 0.5lbs off!).
I shared it with the dog - damage limitation.
Why is the last half stone so flipping hard? Its a combination of lack of motivation and when I am good it just doesn't seem to want to budge!!!!
Am starting again tomorrow - green days with low syns (will try to stick to 10). Must lose at least a lb by May 7th or am giving up!0 -
Just a quick visit to say Hi to *zippy*
(that's a rainbow 'Welcome' in your honour :rotfl: ) It's nice to see folk from DFW :T....
....andto oldgot Don't be self-conscious about going swimming, you have nothing to be ashamed about. You've obviously had quite an ordeal, so getting rid of a few pounds should be a piece of cake in comparison.
Well done lotty :T 4lbs off :T
Thanks for you story Victory you are so positve and upbeat, a credit to this thread and an inspiration to all the new folk. Great news re the clothes as well.
I'm having a total bummer of a weekend, I weighed myself yesterday morning (I know I shouldn't) and it wasn't the result I thought it should be. So I've really cut down ready for tomorrow morning's weigh in. I'm feeling all fat and bloated, but I shouldn't beOh! bum! bum! bum! (I'm just going to go and sit in the corner and feel sorry for myself!! )
See you all in the morning.....perhaps
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Hi All,
I'm sure you don't recall me, and the DFW newbies definately won't but I asked if I could join, and then disappeared without a trace!
Very sorry, but to be honest, I was having a confident "Let's deal with the issue" days, and then promptly ran away and stuck my head in the sand!!
I weigh 73 kilos, and I want to get down to 10 stone, whatever that is in kilos... my maths is appalling at the moment, as that is what I had been for ages, and I didn't really notice anything was wrong until my clothes started to feel too tight... and I'm sure you can guess my expression when I realised I weighed nearly two stone heavier than my husband...
So. This is me, signing back in for the long haul. I WILL weigh in every week. I WILL admit that I have bad days. I WILL count my calories.
And petrichor, please don't be too down on yourself. You're a fabulous person who's incredibly supportive of others, and I have admired how far you've come so far. (I kinda kept secretly reading the thread and feeling terribly guilty!:o ) I was in tears this morning about exactly the same thing, but thanks to your support and others on this thread, you've persuaded me to grab the bull by the horns.

Now look here Petrichor *wags finger* - you know the rules about mid week weigh ins...!Seriously, it could be a completely different story by tomorrow morning, so try to think positively. And even if it's not the result you're expecting, you need to come back here for a boot up the bum, or some friendly support, so never mind 'perhaps'.

Hi Sa1sysoo - welcome back, and good luck with your weight loss. 10 stone is 63.6 kilos, so you've got 9.4 kilos to lose, or 20.68 pounds.
Is calorie counting your preferred weight loss method, or have you considered other options, like Weightwatchers or Slimming World?
