    Hi All

LilMissEmmyLou Well done for having a junk free day, I find that if I have a good day another one follows, because you don't want waste it ;) So hopefully you're being angelwithhaloku3.giftoday.

NekoZombie We all have bad days when we can't seem to stop eating, especially at the start of a diet before we get into a rhythm. Try taking healthy nibbly things to work - sticks of carrot, cherry tomatoes, slices of pepper, fruit etc., but definitely not nuts  as you say they are high in calories and very moreish. I hope that you're being angelwithhaloku3.giftoday too.

Hard luck ajax, but at least you know why. Better luck for this week.

    malima Well done 3.5lbs :T :T

dawnydee Whilst I was doing my post to Lois and talking about re-evaluating our lifestyles, I remembered that like you I bought the Paul Mckenna CD and book early last year. It didn't do anything for me and when I listened to the CD I promptly fell asleep until the end when he says 'wake up'. I'd hoped that there had been something planted subliminally into my brain but as I continued to gain weight for the rest of the year, I guess it failed :rotfl: BUT I've decided to dig the book and CD out and try them again as I'm in a totally different frame of mind now compared to then. Hopefully it might help this time, so thanks for reminding me :T

Hope everyone has a great weekend, remember that help is at your fingertipshackeron7.gif

Was doing so well then today have eaten two large chocolate chip cookies.http://img.moneysavingexpert.com/smilies/angry-smiley-030.gif

Can any one give me any idea of how many calories in each cookie? Now I just want to keep eating but might go for a walk instead.

Just for the sake of discussion.
I don't see how that could work at all. You'd invaribly go for the fattiest/sweetest/saltiest thing.

To take your examples. With the breakfast you're rejecting the toast, tomatoes and mushrooms and eggs which are good for you and give the meal balance.

Same with the fish and chips.

I'm curious though, what's the name of the book?

I agree with you but I think what the book is trying to say
is to let you go ahead guilt free and have the food that you so crave because better to have a slice or two than to binge and go mad with it when you get the chance to have it because you are sick to death of feeling so denied all the time....

If you can strive to the 80/20 ratio then the damage is going to be less than filling your plate to huge proportions and the guilt based on how good you have been as well as exercise will be put in context instead of caving under the pressure of having to be good 100% of the time....

The name of the book was THE FOOD BIBLE taken from the library....

welcome7129un9.giftaggiesgirl and msflowerfairy You will find that both WW and SW are popular here, so feel free to ask for help and 'Good Luck'.
..........taggie try not to let yourself get too hungry, it's the quickest way to fail at this game, make sure you have low-cal drinks and nibbles to hand for such times as these; also WW have lots of good 'No Point' recipes, the soups are particularly good in my opinion. There is a recipe link in the first post of this thread.
..........msflower - good for you for doing it on your own, very MSE; I'm doing it my own way too but by pinching all the good ideas from everyone else ;)

I was reading a book about dieting (yes again:D , I got 6 of them from the library;) ) anyway there is an article in there on cravings and it says that dieters crumble when they think they need such and such food when actually if you logically look at it it is only one thing they crave.....

.....Oh these dietitians would you not love to be one of them and have all their money for coming up with another angle to this weight loss lark?:rotfl: :rotfl:

In my simple view, I think there may be a point here. When I'm really hungry for something, then I'm usually happy with one particular thing rather than having a whole plateful of variety, as you say about the buffet, you don't have everything; but having said that, it really would depend on what mood I'm in ie positve or negative, up or down.

I agree about the money making dietitians though, it doesn't matter what they say, because eventually they say it all to cover every scenario that people want to hear and making a fortune out of us. At least here we do it for free ( are we the silly ones :rotfl: )

    have a good weekend
