If i may be so bold, having read a few previous posts, and offer the following advice when claiming.
-request copies of consumer credit agreement as well as statements (often they cant or wont produce this and you can then question whether the debt is enforceable -good for getting them on the rails)
-complain complain complain, threaten them to make an FOS complaint re charges that will cost £400 to them.
-stick to your timetables and if neccessary submit county court claim
-do not accept a partial offer, go for the full amount (unless your own finances/confidence mean it is actually better to accept the offer)
-check on here and consumeraction.co.uk for info to help you out.
-don't get personal with them. keep all correspondence business like and professional. don't moan, just stick to the facts and point out their obligations.

Hi, i have made a claim against citi cards, took bloomin ages to get all statements, but be pateint and they will come! although i did report them to fos! my citi card account was held sometime ago, it started off as a £250 debt but as the charges piled on ended up paying about £900 back. The account was sold to a 3rd party, which i have since paid off.
Yesterday recieved a letter in the post from citi, which contained the following-
"you have written in requesting a refund of charges thus suggesting that my client owes you this money as a debt. However ,having reveiwed your account it is evident that your account charged off due to you failing to pay my client, including charges, interest and principal.
Despite the fact that you may have paid default fees throughout the accounts life, the fact remains that you owed my client more than you have claimed back at the date of charge off. Earlier repayments do not warrant treating those monies paid as somehow a debt to you, conveiniently ignoring the later debt due to my client. as a result, to refund anything would allow you to profit from your own default. I am therefore unable to agree to refund any such monies."
It goes on to say even though i have repaid the debt, it is to a third party, so citi does not have to repay the debt, It also says that i may take them to court but they are likely to win!
Not sure what to do next, the thought of court is a bit scary  , but i only went into severedebt because of the charges! HELP!!!!!!!!

if court scares you make a complaint about credit card charges to FOS, they have a 100% success rate :-) plus it will cost citi 400 quid for the privelige (sp ?). It's basically them trying to fob you off. It's not your fault they sold the debt. Taking them to court will annoy them, especially if you live a long way from salford!!!Sorry but please keep your signature to 4 lines in length - MSE Forum Team 20

hi guys, this is my first time writing in here, i'm really looking for advice, last week i phoned up telephone banking to see how much i had in my account, i did not have much, all i had was £18 i have an overdraft on this account.
I ordered dinner in for me and my fiance dinner came to £15.86 which meant that there was still money in my account.
I got a letter in from my bank (bank of scotland) telling me that i am going to be charged on the 8th of this month a grand total of £30 which is shocking, i don't have this sort of money as i have cut my hours back as i am going to be a fulltime student, which i will need to open a student account.
I am however very much interested in claiming back my charges, but the only thing is i have my overdraft and i'm scared in case they close my account.
Any answers much appreciated.0 -

Has anybody had any joy or otherwise when claiming from here?
I have had settlements back from both bank accounts and Credit Crad companies, however my second (and supposidly final) response from the Citi cards financial Team is a very dismissive four page rant signed Brian Smith, Solicitor.
I'm claiming for £744 including charges, any advice or people able to participate in discussion would be nice.
