Hi there 1st time poster on the forum. We are in the middle of claiming bank charges back from Bank of Scotland and although they are of course dragging their feet, we are slowly getting there.

However we are also trying to reclaim charges from Citycard . We got in touch about 3 months ago and requested a list of all charges over the last 5 years, the cheque for £10 cleared within two days from our account but still no statements from them.

we have phoned up to complain on numerous occasions and have also got onto the Financial Ombudsman to try and chase them up, but they are totally ignoring us and keep saying "there is a backlog, we don't know when you'll get them."

Does anybody know the best course of action to take in this instance to get them to supply us a list of our charges?

    Great site,BTW thanks

hey colchelle, i have had the same as you with all this...everytime you phone up they say "when we get round to it". you send a letter and they just totally ignore you..it is getting very frustrating and annoying...i know for definate that they owe me over £1000 but cant get the bl**dy statements off them to proceed with the claim.. they are trying every stalling tactic possible...its like we are fighting a total losing battle with them...the thing is though, the longer it takes them to send me the statements, the more determined i am to take them to court for it and fight to the bitter end.

I wrote to citicard on April 12th asking for statement info but havent heard anything from them. They cashed the £10 cheque on 18th April, anyone had similar problems with them and should i go to the information commissioner?

apologies if the answer is here somewhere but i've been trawling through the site all evening.

About a year ago citi card sold my debt to a 3rd party who i now pay a monthly amount to, i have been in touch with citi card today who have informed me thta they MAY be able to send me my statements, they MAY be able to access my account details, etc etc. do you think this is there way of politely telling me not to bother trying to claim. i have sent the letter requesting my charges/statements but as they don't ''own'' the debt anymore will i still be able to claim.

    Thanks

  • hi all, requested statements in april 2007 and nothing till about a week ago. went thru thm all and found they owe me some money (doh). i sent off my claim 17/07/2007 and received a pleasant reply today, saying they are looking into it. i will phone next tuesday 31/07/2007 and ask what they intend to pay and if not satisfied will send LBA. at least there is movement now. :j

  • Hi all, just a note to say citicard sent a cheque this week for £726 in full and final settlement. I had to go all the way and get a court date and request Consumer credit agreement (which they dont seem to have) but it's worth persisting!! Good luck and remember, stick to your timetables and dont be put off.
