I've no intention of paying, what worries me most is that they may come when my elderly mum is home alone and con her into paying on my behalf - does anyone know if they will actally visit?
They can not just turn up w/o prior permission from you. Nor can they talk to any one but you. If they did what you are worrying about above they would have broken the law. But the fact is they won't turn up on your or any one's doorstep.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -
Thanks for the reassurance. Just wanted to check.0

In post #744 on the link below, Charlene UK (who actually started this thread you posted on I see) had these letters in the Summer:

If you send a pm to her, I am sure she can confirm to you that NO-ONE actually calls!

They're having laugh! "Doorstep" collection team? No collection agency can just turn up on your doorstep for a start! They need your permission for that!
I would send the latest two letters back, w/o a stamp but marked "Payment Inside." There won't be of course but they won't know that until they have paid RM first. And it won't cost you a thing. Of course they will know you got them but so what? After so many the goons must realise by now you are no mug!
Maybe enclose several pictures of doorsteps as they seem to like them so much??0 -

I'm afraid I have to disagree there isn't much to stop them just turning up, and similarly there is nothing to stop you slamming the door in their face with an accompanying instruction to leave in whatever terms you care to put it .."f off" seems to be the preferred method generally.
For clarity they most certainly will NOT turn up ..they almost NEVER do ..but legally speaking they could if the wanted to....they won't though.0 -
Hi all,
I have also received many of these threatening letters, which i have not listened to! My newly received letter looks exactly like the one below, apart from a different bold title at the top. How professional.
Its nice to know were all in the same boat with these absolute idiotic morons. who are kindly welcoming people to come to my door... i really wish they do come so they can have a piece of my mind.
Kind regards to all, and do not worry people.0 -
Don't forget to let the shop's etc know that you will not be spending any more money in their shops due to the parking crooks.
Why should they change the parking policy until it effects their profits. The word "gullible" isn't in the dictionaryTickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]

Had a hand delivered letter today. (no-one in) In big letters in a box it reads NOTICE OF DEBT COLLECTOR HAVING VISITED
underneath it reads :
Arrears owing to Car Parking Partnership
I have called today to collect the sum of £_____ being the amount now due in respect of this debt.
I will however be returning on ____________(no definite time can be given) when I will expect to collect the sum, a quoted above, or value any goods and chattels that could be removed by court bailiffs at a later date.
Any further costs incurred in future proceedings will be due and payable by you as the law directs.
Signed______________ Collector in Charge
>>>>>>>>>>
There is a signature on the letter which was delivered by hand, but the amount and returning date were not filled in.
This relates to a ticket given to me for being "parked in a place for a purpose other than the designated purpose of the parking place" - I was parked in a university car park in a space directed to by a security guard - and had paid.
I've had all the intimidating letters referred to in the threads so far, but haven't heard of anyone else actually getting a visit.
Still plan to ignore and not bother contacting them, but am concerned now that my wife, and/or teenage children will be scared/alarmed.0
