Good morning to everyone.
I'd just like to say to everyone (especially the veterans of this thread) I love reading all of your news and chat and I really like the photos and pics you put in. I find this to be a comforting thread to belong to and always feel the need to sit down and read it with a compulsary cup of tea and a couple of oaties (Aldi's hobnobs)! May long you continue to do so!
(Time to jump off my soapbox) :rotfl:
A lazy start to this sunny saturday for me, even got a cup of tea in bed from DH. DD1 is at orchestra and DD2 has just managed to get dressed. DH is rushing around the shops trying to buy his mum a birthday present. I'm feeling quite relaxed and I might even get out of cooking tonight, as we've still got lots of last night's takeaway left. I think I will make some flapjacks later and I might even have a go at the welshcakes for the first time.
I must tell you about the latest book I'm reading it's called 'The New Spend Less Revolution' by Rebecca Ash. It's all about having a better quality of life and yes you guessed it, spending less! It's such a simple book and instead of just having money saving tips, it makes you think about the simple things in life and your priorites. It was a xmas present and you can get it on Amazon, but it will probably be available in the library. I only started it a couple of days ago and I'll probably finish today. I love ms/os books and I probably own most of them, including The Tightwad's Gazette.
Right time to get busy, have a great day!0 -
Morning all (just)
Nipped into work this morning, so up early, even been and done a Boots Trip Amie, but went to the Wheatley one, so missed the gang of girls Pen-Pen. Thanks for the warning though.
Went out last night to Santini's a small Italian in Doncaster for DS's birthday, but really nice food. Had a King Prawn with Mushrooms starter in a creamy sauce flavoured with the Italian Aniseed liquer (forgot its name) well the sauce was to die for, had to had some bread and was not leaving a drop. We all had different, and all were more than happy. Would not call it cheap, it worked at at £26.50 each, for 3 courses, two bottles of wine, and some strong Italian lager for the guys, but really good value for the quality. Worth trying Pen-Pen
Off down to Nottingham this p.m. for him to play hockey, crucial match, if they win they get promoted and its a local derby against Mansfield who share the same training ground and club house, so could be interesting. Think DH & I are going to keep GF company as she hasn't been to watch him yet as she know no-one.
((((Hugs)))) to Twink, and all others who need one.
Roll on a week on Friday! Take care

Hi
Thanks IA, SS & CS for your kind words, I have been asking since I started the job for a letter of confirmation, & I have written a scorching letter of complaint, which includes such phrases as 'I realise this situation has been brought about by Mrs XXXX naivety & disorganisation rather than by malice'
Fortunately my line manager has everything written down so I go into battle fully armed & despite the fact that I am quiet & amenable at work, I have a steel core & I will get what I want & there will be casualties along the way, lol.
Hugs Hester

Morning
I'm not working, feels strange to be at home but in a good way... Warm thoughts to you all, hope everyone has a good weekend.
DD and DS will be back in a moment from a sleepover, really need to go for some shoe shopping  but we all know how expensive that is. Later on, a friend from London will be visiting which will be lovely ( eating lots of chocolate cake is called for).
Oh well, going to have another cup of tea and just chill, even our dog is asleep at the moment. I will probably be back here later, in a complete distressed state about the cost of children's shoes:pSSB0 -

Hi everyone
I can't believe I missed the hunks yesterday! Wowie. Yumyum.
I have been to the Homebuilding and Renovating show at the NEC this morning, it was okay, am building first house at the moment, but it's to sell on rather than for us. Most of the ideas were very luxurious and not something I'd consider, unless it was for a house we are going to live inInteresting though, it was SO busy, I guess so many people must dream of building their own house.
Going to have a bit of lunch in a min, walk to the butcher and do a bit of tidying and cleaning then off for a night of pampering at friends house with other girlfriends. Very quiet here today as OH is away.
I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. Hugs to twink and everyone who needs them x x x0 -

Hi everyone,
Another bad night, getting really fed up now, I know they are caused by stress but nothing I do seems to make any difference!!!!!!!!!!
Later up, stripped the bed and half of it is on the line, the other half in the washer, have a laod of towels to go in tonight.
Just cooking liver and sausage casserole for supper tonight, double measure so can put one in the freezer. We went through the freezer and we have enough in there for next week, so shopping Friday for enough to see us through the move. We have already decided to go to the pub for a meal the night we move, hope to get the bedroom liveable in, so we can sleep ok , will tackle the rest afterwards.
Just going to do a quick 2 week menu list and shopping list.
Have someone coming to collect freecycle stuff, this afternoon, have got rid of quite a bit over the last 2 days, may well have a bookcase and computer desk later if they do not sell on ebay.
Right, I smell sausage cooking so better go and see whats happening in the kitchen....
Have a great weekend..............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
