Hi everyone!
Blimey this must be a first. I don't think I've ever made it onto the first page of the thread before! Can you tell that I've been awake since 5am when OH left for a big show he's doing at the NEC this weekend!!!
So far I've put a dark wash on and done a general quick tidy round. Later I shall expertly move the dust from one surface to another in the living room [usually OH does it and does it properly unlike me!!] then I need to scrub out Madam's tray. She's going to have to start using the garden soon so that'll come as a shock but I wanted to make sure she was properly settled before I took it away as she's a rescue moggie with a dodgy leg and has already cost us a fortune in vets bills! Also plan to make a banana loaf with some old ones I found lurking and a Victoria sandwich. I have a friend and her son coming for lunch but as they're notoriously fussy [I have a list to remind me what they will eat ssshhhh!] I've dug out some Lidl pizzas and a Mr T cheesecake. Best to play it safe methinks. We'll take our little horrors to the park this afternoon in a bid to wear them out and ensure a peaceful evening as there is a big glass of wine with my name awaiting me!!
OH has been up to mischief. I've switched on our pc and he's changed the cursor to a spider and we now have funky icons rather than the usual boring yellow folders. It's fab!!
Have a great day- hugs to all

YIKES! What is wrong with me? 7:30am on a Saturday morning and I'm up, dressed (if you count shrugging a bath robe on;) ) and on my second cup'o'coffee. I should be settling down for at least anothers hours of dozing.
We have friends popping over this afternoon so I'll be clicking over into 'high-tea' mode later. If I'm not arround tomorrow you will find me under a pile of salon and cucumber sandwiches (crust cut off, of course LOL)
Paid2clicking to be done, some ironing and early prep of tomorrows lunch, bearing in mind I may have a few glasses of plonk this afto/evening and we get an hour less in bed tonight. Therforeand I may not have the temprament or time for par-boiling before church. LOL
Going off to re-read yesterdays thread and find out what has been said about TWINK! If it's that old story about the whipping cream smeared riding crop, front fastening basque and two yards of rubber tubing it's all a vicious rumour:rotfl:
Catch Y'all later
MATH x
Edit: ((HUGS)) for TWINK. I second what everyone else is posting, I always enjoy reading your posts and you always come across as a gentle, careing and thoughtful person, even the birds benefit from your kind ways! - where would we be without our adopted OS Mummy!
I like Smokys pics too - in a weird kinda way! Some of them remind me of that dreadful 70's art that depicted street urchins with impossibly large heads and huge limpid eyes, pen-toed and crying on street corners. Arrggghh...they still give me nightmares.
Donna - thinking off you today.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
Good Morning all,
You must have read my mind Amie - in the night I was thinking (about those hunks LOL) no, I was thinking I must thank Smokybabe for your wonderful pictures that you so kindly put up for all our enjoyment, they really make my day, so thank you!!
Aril, my kids are always faffing around with MY computer too, so i end up with things I didn't know existed and probably never know how to do!!!
I am going to read the manual to my new (6 months old!!) camera today and find out how to download photos, Asda are doing prints for 3p each (online) and I thought I should sort out how to do it, especially as I want to take photos of the tulips in Holland soon. I might even try to learn how to put them on here as I'm sure you would love to see flowers (sorry, no hunks around here!!!)
Anyhow I promised myself I wouldn't stay long, so take care all and have a lovely Saturday, my wm's on and I must get on with the dreaded housework, after all we have visitors tonight!!
take care,
bbxxIf you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -

Morning everyone:hello:
Well, I am home alone today - DD slept over at the IL's last night and won't be back till tea time, and DH went fishing at about 5.30am - now what do I do with my dayI do have to take everyone's library books back - unless I can find my pin number and extend them
I must also bake some choc chip cookies today, and make the pizza dough for later, as well as the usual washing/drying/ironing cycle
Good luck at the footie DLB - don't take any nonsense!
Well I'd better get bathed and dressed - otherwise I'll end up on here all day :rotfl:
Have a great day everyone.Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning all,
Been up and about since 6.30am. Have managed to do a load of washing up, a load of washing and clean the down stairs loo.
I need to get dressed in a bit as i need to pick up DD from a a friends house she had a sleep over at last night.
Hoping to get down the allotment today and tomorrow. We are having a lot of road works done here at the moment and they are cutting down the trees leaving lovely wood chips. So i am going to go and aquire some for my allotment paths.
Hope you all have a good day and hugs to all.0 -
racy i love hearing about the coots and its lovely you feed the parents, i like to do that too as i think it gives them more time to feed their young
are the coots safe enough? my stepmother used to get upset when the ducklings hatched on the pond in their village as i think it was the seagulls who would go away with them
Hi Twink,
I agree, feeding the adults gives them time to concentrate on the babies. Where they are is quite safe, but some of them will be taken by gulls and/or pike. It's heartbreaking to watch them swimming along behind their parents and one suddenly disappears under the surface and never comes back.
Usually a few survive though and the only time I've seen Mrs Coot really upset was when she lost both chicks in her last brood last year. She started feeding the nearby moorhen chicks instead though and still gives the youngest moorhen a cuff round the ears then a bit of a groom when she needs it :rotfl:
I agree totaly with what Churchmouse and the others have said, you are :A , thank you for being you
Smoky, thanks for your PM!Phew!!! Yummy!
Charlies-Mum I'm so glad you found a home for that lovely little pup, and I hope Holly is feeking better lil-me
Oh heck, I've been up since lord knows when and I'm still running lateMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Morning everyone
I too have been enjoying the pictures of big dishy men, as there is an extreme shortage of similar specimens in N.Ireland. As it happens a fireman lives virtually opposite to me, but I can confirm that he does not in any way resemble any of the firemen previously posted here - though in a dim light he might pass for their grandad...lol.
The good(ish) news is that w*r* has asked me to come in for a meeting to discuss the situation I found myself in on Wednesday. I've chosen to go in today as the woman who caused the bother doesn't work on a Saturday therefore all risk of further confrontation is avoided. Wish me luck for the meeting...
This morning a bloke from the furniture company is coming to try and fix my new wardrobe. I told him on the phone that one of the doors is a mismatch but I don't think he believed me so he's coming to take a look. At the price I paid for this furniture it has to be nothing less than perfect. If he says it's a "natural" feature of the wood for it to be different colours I'll wet myself laughing, and give him his wardrobe back.
Twink...I concur with comments made so far - you are always so lovely and supportive.
I never knew Llandudno was such a pretty place!
Have a great Saturday everyone.
