Hi,
Can I please be put down for £300 for August. This will need to cover groceries, petrol and pet food.
ThanksGC 2023 June £72/500 NSDs 1/100 -
Evening all
I've just placed my first order for August's budget. Decided I needed to stock up on my cupboards a little as running very low. So spent £47.39 on AF. Got lots of snacks which should last a month easy, also things like soap, loo roll, lentils & soup to stock up cupboards. Hoping to fill the cupboards up slowly so i can eventually drop the grocery budget again

 Already spent over a quarter of August's budget as went shopping after the cycling road race yesterday - and took my Mum (staying).
Have decided to stock up on certain things again for winter because I am anticipating wheat will rise - so flour, bread and pasta will increase - although the combine harvesters are out at night here, desperately harvesting before the weather breaks again. Last week's sun has ripened the fields to gold - so I won't go mad, but a sack of bread flour and a few kilos of dried pasta...
I think meat will increase because the hay won't be so good and milk (and therefore dairy) will go up because the
farmers won't break even if they are having to buy in feed because the hay is mildew. On the other hand, I may just be worrying over nothing.

Morning, had another NSD yesterday (getting quite good at these now!) although might have to spend a bit today on a loaf of bread. It depends on how the day pans out. Tomorrow, certainly, will be my main shop day so I'll have to go spending.
We were very lucky to be at a wedding where all food was provided yesterday so I didn't have to cook. Lovely day, too. Anyway, if I do need to spend it should be very little indeed.
Well, my mealplan is now set for the week and I've written my shopping list - determined to stick to it. Not sure where is going to be the best to go shopping as I'm experimenting with the different sm's again to see where gives best value for money. We'll see what takes my fancy when having a drive about tomorrow! Have a lovely day everyone.

Errrm, hi
x I haven't been around for...a while
. I've found that the more I avoid the laptop, the more I get done around the house!
I'd really like to join in again if that's ok?
My budget for this month (25th jul-24th aug) is £250.
This will have to include groceries, pet food, cleaning stuff and a couple of small birthday presents.
It's going to be a tight squeeze as it works out to be a nearly 5 wk month, but I have a lot of things I would like to save up for.
It makes it harder, being the school hols as, despite being only 4 and 6 and very slight, my girls are trying to eat me out of house and home. It's not lunchtime yet and already they've had half a loaf of bread toasted, 2 packs of crisps, a pack of custard creams, 2 ice creams and a net of satsumas between them!!!
I did an Ald* shop on Thurs that came to £58, hopefully that will last me until at least next weekend with the addition of milk and cheese that I will need to buy today.
Off to rummage in the freezer now and to make a meal plan. The more under budget I can come the betterfreecycler and skip diver extraordinnaire:cool:0 -
