Hi hope everyone is ok and having a nice weekend?
I have currently left a total of £159,70 out of my £250 budget, but the freezer is full so Budgie is hopefully confident and has her fingers crossed that I will be in target?
If not I am writing everything down in my spending diary, (to the point of obsession) so I will be able to see where I have gone wrong, if indeed I do go wrong.
I need to meal plan but this may be put on hold as my Darling DS is home on Monday for a few days and he likes what he likes and because I love him so, I will of course do whatever/cook whatever he wants.I am afraid putty in his hands, and yes he does twist me around his little finger, he always has. :A
Still writing it all down does bring it all on home.

PG- hope you get through today ok and its a NSD for you
I went to Al*i and spent £28  wasnt expecting to spend that much but I did get 1kilo of chicken breast (6 breasts) for £5.99 so that will come in
Unfortunalty im off to my usually spendy startI think if I can keep of out the big sm's the rest of the month and just do Al*i and local market I should be ok
I work by a Mr T and find if I need something from there its best to go before work that way I have to run in grab said item and run back out to go to work- no time to look around
Oh can someone Help Please im sure I have seen cat owners say they bulk buy cat food- is there a specific website you use or is it local shops? I cant remember whats been posted
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the thoughts. It's up and down, depending on whether I specifically remember!! We've (me and the children) have had a lovely day out at Bourton on the Water today, with icecreams and sweets, and paddling. They spent some of their money, and we also took part in a duck race! Great times. On the way home, we stopped off at the cinema to get our tickets for tomorrow morning, then when we got home, we chose which popcorn and sweets we want to take. Feeling good right now...
With regards to the cat food. I don't buy in bulk, but I think some people go to the rainforest place!First shop of the month £47.22!
Filled the stocks a bit, bought some Tinned Tuna on role back, and took advantage of multiple purchases (Curry Sauce (enough to last two months), Orange Squash, rice etc) I also got some YS ready meals for OH and froze them, he will often get one on a weekend for lunch.
Right now it is difficult trying to build up a stock cupboard as I've been unemployed, but I've just started my new job ! Had a great first shift! So I am going to put money aside from my first pay cheque to help reduce our overall spendature. Buying more in bulk to reduce costs etc
Currently meal planning ! and will post laterI also might post up my weekly shop and see if anyone has any ideas how I might reduce??
Thanks
Sarah
Well done on the first shift - that's always the hardest! Good idea for putting up the plan - we'll all have a go at making it cheaper for you. If you say what you already have, and what you'd need to buy, that may help too.Grocery challenge for family of three - me, dd(12) and ds(11), feeding dp 2 or 3 x a week too. First NSD of the challenge for me - yeah! Just changed my Riverford order - planing on trying to get most fresh stuff from them so I don't have to go to the shops to prevent buying loads that I don't really need.
Will need to go to SM tomorrow as I need baby friendly fruit (I am a childminder, and riverford delivery doesn't come until Tuesday). Will try really hard just to get fruit and nothing else, except perhaps a few root vegetables to make soup for lunch.
I have a well stocked freezer with lots of meat, store cupboard full of tins of beans, pasta etc. Made bread and rolls today and put into the freezer (I will charge them to second purse when we get them out). Planning on more baking tomorrow and making a couple of tea loaves, and scones to put into freezer (got sour milk so that will use that up - no waste, v good).
Also decided to try to loose a bit of weight as well (cakes, scones for hordes of children and v hungry DH - I will resist!). Just made lentil soup for DH and me as we were a bit peckish (we ate early with our children) - normally it would be toast with butter and jam. Feel v pleased with myself!Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000
