Hello to all Newbies and welcome to the thread!
Thanks Jumblejack - I've bought the Da!ly M!rror today to get my £5 off A!di voucher which I'm going to spend tomorrow as we will be near one - yay! (how sad is that). Hopefully that means we'll keep within budget next week, as we have a tight month - you never know!

Ok here we go my 2nd month of GC starts today. my 1st was a bit of a disaster but i've learnt a lot so hoping August will be my month, the older 2 will be going to their mums every other week so that will probably help, but it is my daughters 4th birthday at the end of August so that might impact a bit, hopefully not

Morning all,
I'm joining with a max grocery budget of £190 to last from today to the 30th August.
I recorded all spends last month and it came to £223.30. Which is a little scary since our family is only 2 adults, 1 child (who's only with us every other weekend) and 1 cat.
I haven't been on MSE for several years but have been keeping up with the 'good behaviour' so when I realised in June that our grocery shopping was utter madness I knew exactly where to come. So in July I read the Groccery Challenge thread religiously (for inspiration) and tracked all my spends, and now I'm here properly.
I wont be posting much as I dont have a laptop at home at the moment and am limited by how much I can use the internet at work - but I will still be working hard at this, even when I'm being quiet on the thread.

I've just added the £7 a week - meal ideas thread to out front page list (Useful OS threads). a really useful thread with ideas for menu planning and recipes.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Well I used the £5 aldi voucher today so my aldi shop came to £34.67, I also spent £11 on meat from the butcher and another £10.16 in Morrisons and another £7.40 in B&M on cereals we needed to stock up on so a total of £63.23, not a fantastic start as I didn't stick to my list and bought a few extras but will try to claw it back next week.Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

I love Bath, it is a beautiful city. In fact yesterday I spent the evening at the Spa, courtesey of a voucher I had for Christmas and then spent a very pleasurable hour chatting [STRIKE]up[/STRIKE] to the rather nice barrista with the cheeky smile in a coffee shop whilst sipping a very scrumptious cup of coffee, before winging my way back home to my gorgeous husband
Welcome to all the Newbies and good luck with your grocery challenges.
I am still trying to spend as little as possible in the time I have left before we fly out. As I reported on the other thread I have spent £110 in 17 days.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0
