August 2012 Grocery Challenge

Afternoon everyone! Happily reporting my first spend of the August GC - a whopping £1.16 on milk and wraps. I could have made the wraps, but it is too hot, I think. Normally I would but sometimes you just need a bit of a break. I'll update my signature accordingly. I'm feeling all renewed and excited about my August one - going to see if I can do a budget BBQ not skimping on quality!
We'll be having bacon, tomato & sausage risotto for tea. It's basically done Jambalaya-style in one pan but without chorizo or paprika. It'll just be garlic & herbs and a stock cube.Should still be tasty!
Have a lovely evening, everyone.

I'm still on the July thread, as my August doesn't start until August! I have somehow managed to claw back my percentages in the last two months, and although I have still spent more than I should have by this point in the year, I'm still doing ok. Especially as I'm not catering Christmas this year.
I'm not sure what to set as my budget for this month, as I need to spend as little as poss, but it's the summer holidays, so the three of us will be home. Somehow this makes it more expensive with food, even though we still eat the same!! I'm hoping to use this opportunity to use up stock, and have things like beans on hm toast for lunches etc. Hmm, I'll carry on thinking about the budget and post it when I've decided...
