Hi everyone, please can I join in? we are trying to save a huge sum of money for next summer and to do that we need to stick to a grocery spend of £200 a month to cover all household spending on cleaning, food etc. This is for 2 adults and 2 children I've been trying to stick to this budget loosely for a few months and not really managing it at all but I'm hopinh by joining this challenge and pledging on here we will get somewhere near it.
We already meal plan, cook from scratch and eat healthily, I bake snacks and our own bread too and have our own chickens for eggs, the biggest change I am going to make this month is by taking just enough cash with me to the supermarket to do my shop and leaving my debit card at home so I'm not tempted to overspend on bogofs and special offers as I can't be trusted!!!Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Save £5 on your £35 shop at Aldi.
Pick up a voucher in tomorrow’s Daily Mirror (England and Wales) and Daily Record (Scotland) to save.

Tomorrow is my first day of the August challenge after coming in slightly under budget last month. Going to increase the budget slightly as we have a BBQ coming up in August that is likely to be another cost.
Looking forward to it

Hi thanks for putting me down for £370 this month
. I've just got back from 2 lovely days in Bath with my family so need to catch up with everyone's posts. I've spent £71 of the budget so far but I don't think we need much else this week.

Please could i be put down for £300 for August.
We are taking advantage of our allotment at the moment. That helps a bit with spending, as do the eggs we get from the chickens.
Hubbys car is due for insurance at the end of the month so we are paying that in full this year to cut down on the amount of direct debits we have.
Good luck to all.

Hello.
I have been lurking on this thread since January and thought it was about time i delurked and joined up to the challenge.

Feeling happy with myself. Just bought another shelving unit for the shed (clear out time in a mo:eek:) from
Argos and was sorely tempted to buy something else purely to claim the £5 Argos voucher... I resisted:j. Feel quite victorious!
Had to withdraw a cash amount for a wedding gift tomorrow but that isn't opt of the grocery spend. Will need to make a card later. Takes me hours but saves me £££££s
Just had a doorstep wedge of toast for elevenses which was dropping with butter and my rose petal jam!:). Yummy scrummy!!!!
Leftover veggie Korma from last night so not planning to cook much today. The shed will take me an hour or so
Just found another local public walk. Honestly, I must drive around with my eyes shut. This foraging lark doesn't half open your peepers to the local beauty spots that the local areas have to offer. :j:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

£200 for August, 2 adults 2 kids
I have already spent £20 of this on a meat order last month but i'm sure I have more than £20 of meat left so that's a good start.0 -
Just popping on to update my total. Looking good, 50% of my budget spent and 58% of the year gone. Spotted a good bargain wine in Mr T for the red drinkers, Kumala eternal merlot/cab sav/ shiraz RTC £3.74 SEL says down from 10.00- 4.99- 3.74. I cant see anyone paying £10 but £3.74 makes it into my wine cellar."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0
