This is the problem she is getting cheap tobacco from abroad .!
So there is also the issue of what shes smokeing.:(
Any idea who's selling it to her? One of the big problems with counterfeit/smuggled tobacco is how much more affordable and accessible it is to young people (a lot of tobacco with foreign labels is actually clever counterfeiting and counterfeit tobacco it is often more dangerous than legal tobacco as there is no quality control and everything and anything will be going into it, including asbestos in some samples I've seen tested)...people who deal in these things don't really care who they're selling to because penalties for underage sales are nothing compared to the penalties for dealing in smuggled or counterfeit goods.
If you know where she's getting it please report the sellers!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Just to say something else, I hope you've thrown in the disappointed card, that used to get me and still does worse than anything!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0

Yep i did think about that one but not sure if it would have much effect or if i would be labelled a horrible parent

Maybe i should work on that one a bit more did think about it as typical teen its about hair/makeup etc etc you know how it is.If i point out how much shes going to stink ....:D
In your shoes I'd definately go down that route.
Although it'll probably get me flamed, but also in your shoes I'd tell her she either quits or buys proper cigs. I'd rather one of mine smoked and I could deal with trying to get them to stop long term than risked dodgy tobacco.
At 14 she wants to be an adult. So if she wants to be treated like one then she has to deal with adult consequences. Own washing, no pocket money, proper tobacco if she insists on continuing, smelly coats away from everyone elses and references to the smell every now and again.0 -

I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't agree that it's the best tool in the box, ha. As long as it's genuine and only pulled out in extreme situations

Thankfully, I've no children yet...but I can tell you now this would be one of my worst nightmares...
Personally, I'd probably keep the pocket money and bank it....and I think I'd leave the trip as a "stop smoking and you can go" - it's not really a reward for stopping smoking, as she was going to go anyway, but it still makes it seem like there's a good reason to stop...0
