If you read the first post, you will see that she has only just found out that the machine will not be hers at the end of two years.
It's such a shame that you feel it's OK to mislead people this way, that's why companies like PC World get away with it.0 -
ok my mom has arranged for the manager to phone her on tuesday with an update as he has emailed rentsmart and waiting a reply. However we (myself included) are going to meet him personally. He has said there are ways to deal with this situation but failed to mention them, so im wondering what they are.0

Yes my remark about comfort zone was based on my many years of experience working in IT.So you all agree that PC World acted in an honest way, what a shame.
Surely you agree that individuals should take some responsibility for their actions?
Btw, I have worked in IT since 1971.
I don't really understand the significance of that statement in the situation we are in, but you seem to think that it is some sort of qualification.0 -
sorry forgot to say when she got it she said she had to have the what ever happens agreement for that just incase something happens. She thought she was signing for that as she was just shown the last page of the contract to sign, was never told its a contract or any explination what so ever.
I know my mom is partly at fault here for not reading it and belive me she has learned her lession, but I think pc world are part to blame aswell0 -
From the information given by the OP I would suggest this is a SCAM. Sounds like a middle aged lady goes into PC World to buy a laptop and a saleman has thought about getting some easy commission.
PC World staff do not work on commissionIt is also clear that their reps are also getting people to lie, by pretending they are a business when speaking to Rentsmart.
Rentsmart offers two types of leasing, for personal and business use. The OP has been processed under the personal lease, Infinity.
It is impossible to put a lease through as a business without company information. Plus business leases last for a minimum of 36months and give you the option to purchase the product at a fair market value at the end of the agreement.sithmaster wrote: »sorry forgot to say when she got it she said she had to have the what ever happens agreement for that just incase something happens. Whatever Happens does come included as a benefit of Infinity, however no customer is required to purchase it with a product, it's an optional care plan.
Have you contacted the H/O with the information I provided for you? They will have more power to deal with it than a manager at a store level.0 -

thanks, I had advised my mom what some people have been saying including your post, I dont think I could do it for her as its in her name0 -
I have no idea what your career in IT has to do with this unknown person's comfort zone.
Please be kind enough to point out where anyone, let alone all, has said that.
Surely you agree that individuals should take some responsibility for their actions?

In my job I deal with many people of my age who are not very computer literate, many of them are actually scared witless by them. So going into a shop to buy one would mean they would put their trust in the salesperson.
it's obvious that you and many others blame the OP's mum for putting her trust in the salesperson. This can also be seen by the way you keep arguing with me when I try to defend the OP's mum.0
