    Hi

With all these messages and advice it can be confusing of what can be claimed and what to avoid. Just like Dreamin, I received my Lloyds TSB charges back today and to say the least they are not straight forward. They are not statements but a computer printable format which just list Dates, Type, Description, CR/DR, Sheet no: For eg

    10/09/2001 CHG O/Draft Interest 5.58DR 6
    10/09/2001 CHG O/Draft Usage FEE 5.00DR 6
    09/04/2002 CHG O/Draft Excess Fee 25.00DR 30
    05/06/2002 FEE Account Charge 8.00DR 45

The above has been taken directly off the reams of pages from Lloyds list of charges. Any way, I would love for someone to explain what charges/Fees etc I could claim from above, ie can I claim the O/Draft interest or O/Draft usage Fee, O/Draft Excess Fee?? What is the Account Charge all about??

Anyone able to offer any advice with regard to Lloyds and the way they list their charges and what can and can't be claimed back. Would appreciate the guidance.

    FYI

You can claim the O/D Excess Fee.

    You can't the others.

    10/09/2001 CHG O/Draft Interest 5.58DR 6
This is standard interest for having an O/D facility or could be interest for exceeding your O/D.

    10/09/2001 CHG O/Draft Usage FEE 5.00DR 6
Again this is in relation to the above.

    05/06/2002 FEE Account Charge 8.00DR 45
This sounds like you have a select a/c, this is where you pay £8 per month for the privilage of extra benefits. I personally think it's a bit of a swizz!

    Hope this helps

  • Hi.
Sorry if i am going over old ground but i have been unable to find the exact information that i require.
I requested my information of charges levied from Barclays, i recieved a stack of bank statements.
Have gone through them to siphon out all charges. Now i need to know exactely which charges i can claim for.
    I have bee charged
    1. Interest
    2. Account Fee
    3. O/D protection
    4. Unauthorised O/D Fee (charged up to August 2001 then it went to Paid Referals)
    5. Paid Referal
    6. Unpaid Outs
Obviously any help would be much appreciated.
Also many thanks to all who have helped create and advise on this site. Brilliant.

    Hi,

I have a couple of brief questions...

If anyone can answer them I would be very grateful!

If I reclaim charges (successfully), does the bank then stop applying those charges to my still overdrawn account? Or do they see the error of their ways and stop applying them?

I also have charges being applied because my standing order gets 'bounced back' due to insufficient funds - this amounts to £25 per month. Can I claim these back also?

    Thanks

    1) The bank do not stop applying charges after you have reclaimed.
    2) You can reclaim bounced cheque fees.

    Good luck :)

    Hi Twinkly,

Thanks for your reply. It's not cheques that are getting bounced back, but standing order payments, would they effectively be viewed as the same type of payments?

    Thanks

I've recd my statements from the Natwest and unlike my other credittors, the charges are immediately followed by debit interest giving a total charge to be debitted.
Can i include this debit interest in my letter and can i then add my usual interest ontop as i have been doing with the other credittors?
    Help needed please.
