Hi, I shall ask the question anyway but if I am in the wrong place, please redirect me.
I have just received my daughter's copy statements from Barclay's but I am really having difficulties understanding them.
1. The last two columns are headed 'STATEMENT BALANCE' and
'CLRD FOR INTEREST' What does this one mean?
Under the last heading, some have DR against the amount, some not.
What does this mean?
2. In first column headed 'DETAILS' several items listed as 'PAID REFERRALS 1@ £25.00' Is this something I can claim for.
The heading says 'BANK ACCOUNT + PERSONAL OVERDRAFT' Do I have to disregard the Pesonal Overdraft bit (I don't know what it is).
Her account was closed 17 Oct 06 with the 'clrd for interest' column showing £1590DR on 9th October 06. This has been passed to a collection agency.
We are seeing a CAB Advisor regularly to try to get things sorted out, but I am trying to do the 'reclaim charges' on my own. Only just received the statements.
I really am struggling - I've never been overdrawn or had a loan etc. so my statements are easy to read!!
Please, any help you can give (in very plain words) would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance. MM
P.S. I have printed out Martin's guides, but am still having problems.0 -
You'll find a list of what you can and can't claim in the Reclaim Help Thread, if you don't understand the bank's abbreviations please ring them and ask.
You'll find the Reclaim Help Thread linked in my signature and it has the addresses you need plus links to all the main threads along with a brief starting guide.0 -
Edinburghlass. Thank you for your response. I have all those links printed out and have read and reread them.
It is actually understanding my daughter's statements that is the problem.
I was hoping someone could answer the few questions I asked in original post, which hopefully would get me on the way to sorting things out.
Otherwise, I think I would be ringing the bank frequently to get the answers to each new question. Regards MM0 -
I am wading through my dad's statements for the last 6 years in order to calculate the total amount of charges. Problem is, I am coming in to help at rather a late stage, in that he has been issued a CPR part 18 from the Bank's solicitors. Looking through the statements I can see that he has calculated in interest charges that can't be reclaimed as well as 'unarranged borrower fees'. My questions are;
1, Will amending the amount claimed at this late stage adversely affect our claim? and
2, can an unarranged borrower fee be reclaimed?
Any help/direction to another thread would be greatly appreciated!:heart2::heart2:On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur :heart2::heart2:we're debt freeeeeeeeeeeee....FREEEEDOM!!! :j:T0 -
I have asked Lloyds TSB for a list of all my charges going back 6 years and they have sent me this.
I am confused as to what I can claim, I have listed all the different charges;
Account charge
Overdraft Interest
Overdraft usage fee
Overdraft excess fee
Unpaid direct debits
I would be gratefull if someone could advise me and do I reply back to my bank when I work out what they owe me or is there a different address.0 -
Hi all
This is my first post, just adding up my charges now but want to clarify something.I know i can claim the o/draft excess fee but can i claim the interest on that fee? i.e
O/DRAFT EXCESS FEE £20 O/DRAFT INTEREST £1.50
Then charge 8% on top once i have added them all up?
Thanks - Bubbly:p0 -
You'll find a list of what you can and can't claim in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature. You'll also find a basic start guide there as to how you start your claim and how you calculate the interest using the Interest Calculator in Martin's article as these need to be entered individually and not adding 8% to the total.
and no, you can't claim back the interest for normal overspending0 -
hi, my first post so please be nice.
ive got my 6 years of statements from natwest (it only took them 9 days from the date i sent the first letter asking for them) anyway a question about the charges.
on one of the statements its got the following -
20 sep 2002 - charges - 19 copy statment - £47.50
can i claim this £47 back? £47 is alot of pennys for some statments when the 6 years worth only cost £10 and theres alot more than 19 pages of it.
also
ive got a charge that pops up now and again but i dont know what it is, it looks like this -
18 oct 2002 - charges - 06oct A/C xxxxxxxx - £39
(account no)
this "charge" ranges from £6 to £39, what is this "charge" and can i claim it back?
thanks0
