If you haven't received all the information you require in an intelligible format within 40 days of them receiving your Subject Access Request, report the matter to the Information Commissioner by clicking here. However, his staff are as inundated with complaints as the banks’ and credit card companies’ are with SAR’s.

Is there any point in reporting these matters to an organisation that IMO has no clout. It appears that one has to fill in forms etc. for this Government Quango to smack the organisations wrist; IMO that will not stop that organisation from doing the same again.

True, but for the DPA, its the only quango in town.

I have a Student Royalties account with RBS - if I go over my overdraft limit a monthly 'maintenance charge' of £10 is applied. I've racked up quite a few of these. Can I claim them back? They do appear to be a penalty charge, however it's lower than the standard £39. Thanks

• Hello,
I note that you can claim for late payment fees for catalogues, I have had 'administration charges' applied to my Ace Gifts catalogue account, having just received my 6yrs of statements from them. Will I still be able to claim for these as their covering letter states 'Under the credit terms we reserve the right to apply an administration charge of up to £20 each time you fail to pay the full required payment. Many thanks.
