I'd claim it. If the bank wants to show that it is reasonable and lawful, all they have to do is to give you a breakdown of it.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Hi... I am new to this and trying to take it all in please confirm this for me before i start... i bank with Lloyds TSB...
O/DRAFT INTEREST - i cannot claim?
Correct.O/DRAFT USAGE FEE - i can claim? can i claim the interest?
You can only claim for overdraft interest on the penalty charges themselves. Frankly that is such a complicated calculation personally I wouldn't bother.
But no, a fee for using the overdraft is a fee for a service, so no you can't claim it back.ACCOUNT CHARGE - can i claim? is this the service account charge? if it is i see that you do say no it can't be claimed, it was £8 per month it is now £10 per month.. please confirm?
Again, this is a fee for a service, ie you are paying for the frills that come with certain accounts.O/DRAFT EXCESS FEE -i can claim? can i claim interest?
If this is a charge for exceeding your overdraft then yes you can claim it.UNPAID S/O - i can claim? can i claim interest?
Yes you can claim for the charge they make on unpaid standing orders etc. Please advice.. i'm confused! Thanks.
As for the interest you keep referring to, you can't claim interest until you go to court and then you can ask the court to award the statutory 8% interest.
There are a few people who are attempting to claim contractual interest, ie at the interest rate that the bank charges you for unauthorised borrowing. This is a grey area and is fraught with technicalities. It isn't for the faint hearted or for people who don't want to research the statutes to the nth degree.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0 -
i bank with lloyds just sorting out what they have charged me over 6 year,s and there is a hell of a lot OVER DRAFT USAGE FEE what is this and can i claim it0

Overdraft Excess fees have been sucessfully reclaimed. These are the £20 -£30 at time fees for going over your arranged overdraft limit.
Overdraft useage suggests to me that you mean the interest charged for being in the overdraft. That is the 18odd% APR when you use the overdraft.
These cannot be reclaimed.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0 -
Can I claim any charges back from a Royalties account with the Royal Bank of Scotland? As far as I can see, I am being charged a monthly fee and interest at varying amounts, which is around £30 per month.
