can anyone please advise me, when totalling up the bank charges they've sent me, do I for example total all charges ie.o/draft interest £22.64, o/draft excess£20.00,o/draft interest £0.35. I wasn't sure about the small amounts that are charged to your acount if they're under £4.50? thankyou.0

Have a read of the first post in this thread for what you can and can't claim and also check out the Reclaim Help Thread in my signature which gives you a basic start guide, good luck.0

i am atempting to claim charges for a morgage account with the alliance and leicester , bounced direct debit fines etc, but can i also claim back the legal fees they charged me? because to me the total payments due in the 3 year period were £6000 and the total charges they fined me were £5900 making the total they got £11900, so my argument is that if they had never fined me i would have never been behind therefore the legal charges would not have been needed, or am i clutching at straws ?0

Hi,
Probably being a bit thick, ive read the comments on which things you can and cant reclaim.
I have a lengthy amount of statements from my bank and was wondering what i do next.
Do i just simply total up all the thing they may have illegally charged me for and send the bill with the next template letter?
Or do i need to deduct the "actual" amount it may have cost the bank (ie a suggested £1)?
Many thanks

ps Barclays returned my cheque for £10, and said they perform this sevice free of charge.0 -
Total up all the charges - you go for reclaiming the charges in full - don't deduct anything from them.0

Just a quick question:
I have two types of charges on my credit card:
arrears charge: £20
Overlimit charge £20
Are both of these reclaimable?
Thx
Hipoh0 -
Yep - arrears charge is just another name for 'late payment fee'0

Hi Guys
I've jsut started wading through my statements. Back in 2001, NATWEST were only charging me £14 to go Overdrawn.... is that acceptable or should I be added these charges (there are quite a few!) or ignore them?0 -
Also, while I am asking a newbie question, does anyone know what a "Referal Charge" is, as I have one or two, for £40 and £600
