I would ask the bank, sounds alot for using a cash machine! Did these charges occure the month after going over overdraft?Stick to YOUR timescale. Dont take ANY bull. DONT be intimidated. The law is on OUR side.
Feel free to thank me if I was a help

Am not with them any more but will give the local bank a bell anyway. It dose not seem to be the month after i have gone over, no. It was me Visa card and i was quite clever with them. I would pay the monthly balance of one from the other card. Well ultimatnley not clever just prolonging, but... I'm not due much back of these, £300 of two maybe, do you reckon i just submit it anyway and see?0

You can only claim over limit fees and late payment fees on a credit card, not cash advances.0

OK thanks! What are cash advances then? Are they simply just money that has been drawn out of a cash machine? Why are they of different amounts???0

NoI have now figured out what can & can't be claimed for, got the list together & printed out the letter to the bank ready to send off. What I wanted to check with anyone on here who has already got passed this stage is;
Do you need to state what the charge is for on your list?
I have just got the list compiled using the calculator on here(with intrest taken off) this just shows dates & ammount charged is this ok to send?BARGAINADDICT

Hello All,
Basically I need some advice, I bank with HSBC, I can access my statements for the last 6 years online, with bank charges from about £13 to £60, the question is this, I see small interest charges on my statements from 13p to over £14, Now can I claim these back aswell?
Thank you in advance for your advice.0 -
You can claim the charges but unfortunately you cannot claim the interest charged - these should appear as separate entries on your statements.0

Hi,
My Husband's bank statements going back six years show 'Interest' charged at a total of approximately £1,500.00 and yet 'Charges' of which there are only two total in at a mere £75.00 - can I only claim the £75.00?
I'm afraid Hubby had got his finances into a constant situation of 'Robbing Peter to pay Paul' and balancing between accounts. He has interest charged at around £20.00+ almost every month, the only exception is where some months are not listed on his internet banking archives - anyone any idea why some months are missing?
I don't suppose I can claim anything back on a loan paid off after the first year of a four year term can I? The insurance premium of £2,000.00 is being refunded by just under half.
Anything to claim back on credit cards? Again my Husband has monthly interest of around £50.00 over the last couple of years and again a couple of years before that - no wonder people struggle to get their debts cleared.
I've only just found out about all this debt so I've taken on the job of clearing them, reclaiming charges if possible and hopefully getting things back on track.
Please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!
