  • Hi there,

    I'm a newbie so go easy ;-)

I was just going through my accounts with the Halifax and noticied that "Interest Debited Notified Last Month" kept cropping up a hell of a lot. Now I've seen this a lot on another account but as I kept on going in and out of the red I passed it off as something to do with that. However, it is now appearing on an account that has NEVER gone into the red... can anyone else shed light on what the Halifax are charging me for here?

Also I've totalled up only about £200 worth of bank charges (do credit card late fees come under the same "claim all" guidelines?) is this worth claiming? I have an excellent relationship with the Halifax at the moment, with an excellent deal on my credit card and overdraft facilities - is it worth risking this for a low amount?

    thanks

    Afternoon All,

I've just received six years worth of bank statements from Barclays. In total I have paid exactly £500 in charges over that period.

Here's the thing. I know you can dispute charges for bounced cheques, direct debits etc, but the bulk of my charges are for exceeding my overdraft. Can these also be disputed?

    Cheers.
  • hi does anybody know what "unpaids out" on my statement means and whether i can claim these back.
    thanks

I have been charged loads of DD Fail Fees, I dont know how to work it out as I had 4 of 14 fees refunded as a "Goodwill Gesture"

How do I work out the interest on the 3 weeks between being charged and having the partial refund

    Thanks

ok i just got all my bank statements back and im looking through them,
do i only claim back any charges or should i claim back the interest?
the interest has been charged monthly and ranges from 3 quid up to 30 quid, so should i reclaim them back or is it just the charges?
    thanks.

On what basis can you reclaim interest? It is only the charges that are claimable. You didn't really expect totally free borrowing for 6 years did you?

It is just the charges (e.g. unauthorised overdraft limit, etc) and not interest.

My hubby recently used a cheque from Barclaycard to pay some builders for an emergency roof fix. When the cheque cleared and we received our next statement, Barclaycard had charged us £120.00 for handling the cheque!!! I know we have to expect some cash advance fee from credit cards but really that much???? Do we have to just accept this or has anyone got any advice?
