okay here goes;
don't use vinegar for fabric softner but do use it for cleaning windows
do use jars of pasta sauce and curry sauce but we always add extra veg and spices to them
do use the tumble dryer all year round
don't go to a butcher or get organic fruit and veg as cannot afford it. (majority of our meat is bought mega reduced from supermarket.) married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
where do you find a man to clean your oven? I NEED TO KNOW!
and how much does he cost?
I use a company called ovenu (http://www.ovenu.co.uk)
It's a franchise company and operates thoughout the country.
It costs me £52 for 2 ovens (double eyelevel ovens) and my one is brilliant. He takes about 2 hours and cleans everything - down the to nuts and screws!
Well worth it.Save the earth, it's the only planet with chocolate!0 -

I use ovenu too. Last time it was about £40 to clean my single oven IIRC.
It is so clean afterwards that I'm convinced it makes the oven work more efficiently, so not a complete waste of money. Yes, it would be more OS to do it myself..........0 -
My hair is far and away my real extravagance.
I get it done three times a year and it costs over £100 a time!
I have a cut, three colour highlights and a conditioning treatment. I love it and its the only thing I do for myself. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I buy puff pastry, but professional chefs do too and you need a massive kitchen surface to make it. I do make shortcrust pastry though.
I buy bread for sandwiches during the week because i don't have a breadmaker and don't have freezer space to store homemade bread made in batches (no time midweek to make new loaf)
I buy wine, we will be making it once we have a bit more room!
I have bought flavoured couscous, its 97p for 2 sachets each one does lunches for both of us so to me mixed with leftover roast veg and chicken is cheap and quick as a lunch (I also do have regular non flavoured couscous) )
I do buy MAC makeup, most I bought for me to do my wedding makeup (see moneysaving ROTFL) but it lasts absolutely ages and ages and is longlasting once on.
haircuts. £30 twice a year, its long but i can't cut it properly myself.
am i really bad?0 -

This thread is turning into a mutiny against Vinegar and Microfibre cloths.

I can't make chocolate chip cookies. I buy packet mix and add extra chocolate and cocoa. I am fiercely proud of my other baking skills so this is a very shameful complete never-tell-anyone secret.
Also, I hate ironing and almost never do it. Thankfully I am engaged to a bloke who loves ironing :rotfl:
I can't buy ready meals (long ingrained dislike - I don't even 'trust' takeaways), but I buy ready-made pizza. My HM pizza bases are almost as bad as my chocolate chip cookies! :eek:Old-styler, crafter and freebie junkie!Frogga's Amazing Weight Loss Campaign: Member no.20 since 2/9/07 -- lost 10lbWedding bells 04/10/08

I can't make gravy, yorkshire puddings, mayonnaise or pastry so all shop bought.
My bread isn't much better so it's Mr Warburtons for us.
Estee Lauder Idealist Skin Refinisher (£10 a month), no matter how big an economy drive we are on. Briliant stuff, not found anything else like it. This is the last thing I will give up, and believe me I am not usually bothered about these things.
My children love my HM cakes but want a shop bought birthday cake for a treat and I give in every time.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
