What's your non OS guilty secret?

Options
As an alternative to the brilliant thread on OS things that only you do I've been wondering if everyone is 100% OS all the time. Do any of you have guilty corner cutting secrets?

Mine are;

1. After years of failing miserably I've give up making pastry and buy the frozen stuff.:eek:

2. I buy ready meals if they are yellow labelled in Tesco (only fairly healthy ones though) and use them for lazy teas about once a fortnight.:eek:

3. I buy ironing water at £1 a pop :eek:

I'm sure there are more but am I the biggest money wasting cheat on OS?:o

    Eating out - but I do go for smaller meals, so not so pricey - it is nice to have someone cook and do all the work for you.

    I can't make pastry either

    Occasional M&S treats

    Any treat I buy is a reward for any OS thing I do

    mmmm. Forgot about M&S :drool: :o
    It's those flippin ads that make me hungry. [STRIKE]Unfortunately[/STRIKE] luckily for my budget my nearest M&S is over 100 miles away.:rolleyes:
  • Hi everyone

    My worst thing apart from not being able to make pastry, not sure if I can't or if I'm to lazy, LOL, is that I have to buy ready made fries, pies and onion rings regularly, and fish cakes as I cannot be asked to make them, maybe I will try someday. I keep on threatening to, but just can't seem to make myself do it.

  • Good idea for a thread. :)

    I buy M&S lasagne ready meals occassionally and put them in the freezer for: when I really can't be bothered to cook anything or when I have been away and come back at 10pm hungry (not fancying the overpriced 'food' on the train)
    By the way M&S lasagne is nothing special but as ready meals go it's edible and not hideously expensive + the M&S one has no 'nasties' in (like hydrogenated oil) although probably high in salt like most processed food.

    I sometimes throw the chicken carcass away after a roast because I don't have freezer space for more stock (all those M&S lasagnes in there!), and won't need fresh stock in the next few days so no point in making any! :)

    Sure I can think of a few more......... ;)

    I pay too much for haircuts and have a short, funky style instead of a longer one which I could trim myself (used to trim my own hair when it was long) and um...I do other non OS things as I'm pretty new to it but can't think of specific ones which make me feel guilty!

    Mine is ready mde pizzas, I'm trying to get into the habit of baking my own (thanks Squeaky:A) but it rather defeats the object of an easy meal when there is so much washing up to be done:o

    Also I buy packet mix shortcrust pastry & frozen puff pastry:o

    I buy cheap wet wipes and add disinfectant to them for instant cleaning wipes, a compromise on the £1.99 ready made ones in the supermarkets but still lazy compared with a bottle of stardrops & a sponge.:o

    I buy ready made korma sauce...it makes a killer prawn curry!

    And finally................

    I don't like microfibre coths:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    Uncle Bens Microwave rice.

    Just discovered them the other week. And now I'm hooked. I love rice, but I hate the mess it makes and I can't cook it all nice and fluffy (used to be able to with out thinking, It always came out lovely, but now I just seem to have a mental/culinary block!)

    And I buy bread - DH not keen on HM stuff. I make seedy stuff for me and kids every so often as a treat, but DH prefers plastic bread.

    I buy bread as well as make my own as i don't have a bread maker and the amount of the stuff we go through i would just be baking all the time.

    I buy ready made sweet n sour sauce.

    I don't always bag up leftovers for the freezer, instead it goes in the bin:o

    this last one i am really working on as i hate waste.
