Wine, wine, wine ....... (because I still save Tesco clubcard points for deals - just saved £1675 off our Virgin holiday to San Fransisco and Las Vegas for the Summer thanks to my canny wine purchases but it does mean that I have to have a glass per evening and two at the weekend). Also expensive cosmetics (Eve Lom) and haircuts. Organic korma sauce for quick Chicken Korma. Don't use pastry but if I did it would not be HM.
Oh dear, forgot to add TD - I don't tumble clothes till dry, only to get the creases out so I save a lot on ironing so maybe it doesn't count. Who am I trying to fool - more to do with laziness than saving the planet me thinks!
I keep remembering things and then making up excuses for having them - like my G&B chocolate but then I make my own mousses using just it and an egg so I might be saving really!0 -
As I read these posts I realise I commit sins I didn't really realise were syns.
I buy ready prepared fresh fruit salads:rolleyes:
Kim
NOOOOOoooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't do it EVER !!!!!!
I have a friend who worked as a temp in the factory that distributes these ready prepared fruit / veggie / salad thingies to all of the major supermarkets (Including M&S)
He said that basically what happens is that the out of date stuff gets taken off of the shelfs and sent to the factory, where they open the packets take out the pieces that 'look' mouldy and re- bag the things up again to send back
They could be going backwards and forwards for weeks   :eek:0 -
I buy REALLY expensive perfume.. not often.. but I do. I also buy John Frieda shampoo & cond. for me.. everyone else gets the cheapy stuff. I use disposable ST's.. mooncup is banished to a drawer never to be seen again... and the washable pads.. well if anyone wants some FFP.. lol
I buy tesco ice cream.. the mint one.. because I love it!!
I use gallons of fabric conditioner.. hated using vinegar, however little I used I could still smell it and felt like a chip paper!
My tumble dryer gets used all year round.. I refuse to hang knix and socks on the line!! I use it for everything except woolly jumpers and formal trousers and shirts!
I drink a bottle a bacardi a week... at the pub!!
Once a week I buy cheese straws and biscuits for my daughter.. and I often buy an iced finger on the way back from school and eat it before I get home and don't tell anyone!! SSsshhhhhhh
SHOES!! I have dozens of pairs of shoes.. I only wear 3 or 4 of them.. but have loads.
I buy washed potatoes because I don't like buying mud... and hate peeling dirty ones.
I also buy potato waffles/fritters/alphabites for lazy dinners.
Bernard matthews rocks!! lol I eat hundreds of turkey burgers.. I don't care if they are made from the feet and beaks.. or even those red droopy things off their faces.. I like them!! I wouldn't feed them to the children though.. too full of junk lol.
creme eggs... YUM!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Got to be fabric conditioner and washing detergent - I really, really did try with soapnuts, vinegar etc but I just couldn't get used to it. I only ever buy what's on offer though - currently Lenor and Surf tropical lol.
Also face wash/moisturiser - I do buy 'expensive' stuff but I will only buy it off ebay, so it comes in at a similar price to a supermarket premium brand.
I just won't buy cheap meat either, I'd rather get something that I know is fairly good quality and have much less of it. I only buy organic milk too, but again we try to use less of it.0 -
