UI love rice, but I hate the mess it makes and I can't cook it all nice and fluffy (used to be able to with out thinking, It always came out lovely, but now I just seem to have a mental/culinary block!)
Here is how to make good rice all the time. Add boiling water to cover your rice, stir once (ie one clockface) and leave to boil for about 7-8 mins. Meanwhile put the kettle on to boil. when the time is up, the rice will still be a little hard, but drain it and the pour the just boiled water over it. Now put it back in the empty pan with a lid on and leave for a few minutes. Perfect rice grains that don't stick together :j0 -

I think you can be forgiven for the cream eggs smitty I can't imagine they'd be too easy to make from scratch :rotfl:
It's funny how for a lot of us life is just to short to make pastry. Well that and the fact that when I make it it's inedible.:o
However..... If Queenie comes on here and tells me she buys ready made pastry I'll eat my microfibre cloths.0 -
Ok,
I buy expensive bath and shower wash as I have v. sensitive skin. Although this week I have bought sea salt bath salts.
I buy frozen ready rolled pastry
I buy sweet and sour sauce.
I buy one jar of pasta sauce a month where you don't even have to cook the pasta first - bung it all in the oven style.
I buy pizza bases - the completely plain ones with nothing at all on.
Edit: and I still use clinique but now only buy it on a bonus day offer - everything cheaper brings me out in spots or eczema.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

i like this threadLife should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!0 -
I LOVE frozen hash browns or potato waffles for Sunday breakfast. (Rationalisation to self: They're both cheap in Lidl)
My haircuts cost £40 a pop (RTS: I only go every 3 months and when I was in debt, a friend cut it for free.)
M & S Profiteroles: (RTS: Only once a month and I work hard ALL DAY.)
I use Philosophy's 'The Present'. (RTS: It's not the most expensive skin product and Boots own (etc) are rubbish in comparison.)0 -

I have my hair cut at quite a posh place. I have been going to him for 7 years (ohmigawd, I just had to work that out. I am so boring and stuck in my ways.) I like him, we have a good chat too and it is such a luxury. It's a throw back to my spend what I earn days. But I have cut down to only a trim once every 2 months, not a colour and trim every 4 weeks.
I also have a quite posh car0
