    mmm

forgot to mention - expensive haircut, but I wear it EVERY day, so if you work out a pence per wear......

Also I go for expensive makeup/face creams. I have found that if I buy the good stuff I use it up. Whereas if I buy cheaper, I don't like it, buy more and throw loads out. It's false economy.

I am sure there are other things I shouldn't admit to here!

Use fabric softener - sorry, can't get on with the vinegar thing.

This thread actually has made me realise how far I've come since my non-OS days. I had to actually sit and think about what processed stuff I buy and I DO buy some stuff but before I could have reeled off a list without thinking. I actually turned down the offer of a meal out last night from my hubby because I said I'd begrudge the money spent on rubbish food  NOT like me at all. Instead I made a chicken with lemon, honey and black pepper salad for pence and it was YUM and only made one pan and two plates of washing up :D.

    Back to thread...

*I still buy sliced bread because I'm trying to lose weight and so I buy nimble so that I can calorie count easily.
*Jars of mayonnaise, for the reason above (God only knows how Hellmans extra light is so low in fat and calories)
*I still buy one can of soup a week to take to work for lunch- I tried taking homemade but I can't seem to find a container that ensures it doesn't leak all over my bag. I have to say though that the soup is REVOLTING and if anyone has any tips as to what containers to buy then I'm all ears! Isn't it funny how your tastebuds change when you go OS?

Oh and I use Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream when I need a bit of a perk up and Benefit Mascara. But I do use cheapo moisturiser every night though, so that makes me feel better about such luxuries :D

Oh the haircut thing has thrown me. I didn't realise I should be cutting my own:rotfl:
I'm having mine done tommorrow but the girl who does it comes to the house and (only) charges £50 to cut and colour mine (and it's very long) and to give the girls a trim and it hasn't been cut since before christmas.

Come to think of it I look a bit like that scary smiley.:o

I use frozen pastry too. I get in a right mess when I try to make my own. I also take the children to McDonalds once a week

-i use the trumble dryer FAR too much,

-a couple of yummy 59p jars of lidl curry sauce a month (probably cheaper than i could make it actually)

    - i am also coming to the conclusion that cheapo face wash etc is probably false economy for me, the clinique stuff lasts me ages, doesnt bring me out in a rash and more importantly, i dont throw it away!

i am sure theres more but i cant think at the minute
    - prior planning prevents poor performance!

I still buy sliced bread when the decent stuff (such as Tesco Finest Multigrain) is yellow stickered - even though I do own a breadmaker :o

I have a takeaway breakfast most mornings - the caff near my office does a deal on a bacon roll and a big cup of coffee, £1.80.

I do still buy supermarket meat. But only when it is vastly reduced and I know what I'm going to make with it.

I do buy some expensive cosmetic products but almost always when they are on special offer.

I use black cabs occasionally - once a month on average I suppose, to get home from town late at night. My average used to be couple of times a year, but I now live so close to Central London that I almost never need to use tubes or trains, only buses. An annual all-zones bus pass works out £360 a year cheaper than an annual inclusive Travelcard for zones 1&2 + all-zone bus travel, so even when I add on the occasional top-up tube fare or £10 black cab, it works out probably cheaper and certainly more flexible. And is still a huge amount cheaper than having a car!

I have most of my mending done by my local dry cleaner as I can't be trusted with a sewing machine :o

Edit: vixtress, I use my tumble drier a lot as well. I have no outside space to dry washing, and I do have an extremely ennergy-efficient (and fiendishly expensive :o) washer-dryer.

As I read these posts I realise I commit sins I didn't really realise were syns.

    I buy the ironing water
I buy fabric con - the new almond or jojoba oil one:mad: (I love it).
I occasionally buy ready meals, don't really like the taste or lack of:D
I buy ready prepared fresh fruit salads:rolleyes:
I buy them Quantrum DW tablets.
I use the dryer for sheets, towels underwear & nightwear even in a heatwave:eek: , as it saves ironing them:o
I occasionally shop in M&S & Waitrose for food.
    I buy Benefit make-up
I prefer the "taste the difference" range, there I've said it, but I keep trying to prefer the "be good to yourself" range.

    I'm still new & learning
