    I'm sure there are a few more but I reckon I'm 83.7% OS! :j

Maybe somebody should create a website with a short test like that one 'how gay are you' - I think I am probably 77.3% OS. :)

  • OMG....I thought we were doing so well BUT:-

Once fortnight we go to Starbucks after our visit to the Library....however, we have gone from two designers cofees and a large bun each (approx £9) to two of the regular brews plus a packet of ginger biscuits (contains two) £4.00

We have a bottle of wine of Friday night ....usually from Morrisons, if we fill up my Co Car and OH's van all week we usually have enought points for a £5 voucher, the challenge is to find the bottle with the biggest discount ie. half price, 8.99 down to 4.49

John frieda shampoo and conditioner..only when its is, rarely, on offer, and always take your bottles out of the bathroom after use and conceal in a place of safety - lasts much longer, can't think why???

I thought that was it but then remembered....dogs have a 150g foil tray of butchers Senior or Caesar Senior with their vitalin cheapo, but this is on the vet's advice.....

  • What a great thread! OK, here goes:

    1) I buy Twinings Everyday teabags - rather expensive but I HAVE TO HAVE THEM!! Can't abide cheap teabags!

    2) I always use Aussie shampoo & conditioner (rest of family get cheap stuff:rolleyes: ) Quite pricey, but don't need much so lasts ages.

    3) I have quite a bit of Dermalogica skincare stuff, I find it's just miles better than anything else. BUT my sis-in-law is a beautician and gets economy sizes at cost price for me :T

    4) I love BeneFit make up, but hardly ever buy it myself (only when I've done tons and tons of overtime) and usually get it for Christmas/birthday.

I'm OS with pretty much everything else, honest! I use Stardrops and soda crystals and never buy jars of sauce or ready meals :A ;)

We don't eat takeaways but that's mainly because we don't have a decent takeaway near us.

I make shortcrust pastry but usually buy puff.

I use toilet wipes and also use the tumble dryer all winter-I hate clothes draped over radiators.

I'm a chocolate addict and also have at least a couple of gin and tonics a week-decent gin too but will drink own brand tonic.

I buy clothes which don't need ironing, I rarely iron anything I wear, kids uniforms sometimes don't need ironing (thankfully they wear polo shirts not proper shirts) and most of DPs clothes don't need ironing either, I have drying and folding down to an art to reduce ironing. In fact I needed to iron something 2 weeks ago and it took us an hour to find the iron :rotfl: But think of all the electricity I am saving. I told a friend about this the other day and she was extremely shocked, as she said our clothes don't look any different for it.

I do use instant gravy when just making it to go with food which didn't have stock. If I am doing 'Chinese Style' curry, I use packet mix, Indian style curry I make my own. I wouldn't even consider trying to make puff pastry. I regularly buy sausage rolls from the butchers instead of making them, only uses the same stuff and works out cheaper. Coffee and tea I could never buy the cheap stuff either.
One day I might be more organised...........

I'm fairly good on the whole, but occasionally I have an Indian take away :o

Also, when I'm doing surveys in Central London and I have an hour or more break, I go into one of the Costa or Starbucks cafes and that costs the earth, since I don't always have vouchers. But I have no debts, so I suppose I should't be too stingy with the dosh. ;)

Im the same, i hate ironing, so hang everything up as soon as the WM has finished, fold it as soon as its picked in and our clothes dont look any different to anyone elses. We do have the odd thing that needs ironing (i couldnt let any of us go out looking like tramps, mind you, the children often come home looking like one!!!) so i do have one, but if i can get away without ironing, i will!!!!

:D Pleased I am not the only one. DS2 wears joggers for school and DS1s trousers are about the only bit that sometimes needs ironing. Thy wear sweaters over the polo shirts. I do have an all singing dancing drier which my partner calls the Starship Enterprise, because it's got so many buttons, lights and functions. If anything NEEDS ironing it goes in there on the easy iron setting first then if it still needs it I will. I usually throw all DS1s trousers and all the sweaters and polo shirts in there on a Saturday for 20 minutes when a little damp and fold/hang as soon as it comes out, hey presto!

Oh I bought garlic bread again, keep saying will make my own but never have had the time. I buy ready squished garlic anyway, after running a takeaway for a long time I seen enough peeling of garlic to last me a life time!

I pay somebody to clean my windows on the outside upstairs once a month..
could do it myself but don't have big enough ladder and don't fancy standing on one (or falling off) if I did!

LOVE Bisto gravy powder (as my sis is so kind to send me it regularly, cuz we don't have it here in Holland)

Will buy store sliced bread as I simply don't have the time to bake that much bread for all 7 of us. Will bake on occasion to satisfy the yummy-bread-need.

I use the dryer a LOT, because it's much easier and quicker and got no space in the house to air dry 7 people's clothes.

I'm quite sure actually that if I listed the OS things I do, it would be much shorter! :rotfl:
