Rups - I am due the 13th April. I am being induced again so baby may be here earlier (depending on size) or at least on the due date. Am nearly 19 weeks - can't believe how fast it has gone!!!

Have a nice meal with your friend!!

Afternoon all! 38 weeks plus 2 days for me, just back from midwife appointment and everything is looking pretty good. I am only measuring 35cm but she didn't seem concerned because a.) I am generally a little person and b.) baby is more engaged than last time (when I measured 34cm) which apparently means they are measuring less of it. 3/5 engaged she said, so that sounds good. Have been finding my whole pelvis is really achy this week especially if I do a bit of walking, but it's nothing I can't handle. So excited now!

Am struggling a bit to find a mattress to fit my beautiful handmade wooden crib - if anyone knows where I can get a proper thick mattress (one of the 10cm ones) that is 70cm x 30cm I would be most grateful.

Also, another question - anyone here know anything about maternity bras in small sizes? I am so small that I haven't really got a bra size usually, currently wearing my normal pre-pregnant 34A gel bras. My measurements right now are 33 inches under the bust and 34 around the bust. They say to add 5 to the underbust and then your cup size depends on the difference between under and around but this maths doesn't work for me as it would make me a 38 but with a minus cup size!

Do you think I am likely to suddenly get bigger when the milk comes in, or should I just get 34A and hope they'll fit? To be honest I don't actually *need* to wear a bra in terms of support, I wear them to give me more shape but I assume this will be different when I am feeding? Or do you reckon I could just decide to go all feminist and do without bras for a while?

Hiya, I'd maybe go with a 34A if you can comfortably slide your hand into the cup but if it's tight, go for the B cup? You'll need a bra to hold breastpads in place, and protect delicate/sore nipples from chafing. You could look at the softer sleep bra styles to start off - might be more forgiving sizewise if you do get much bigger?

^^ I agree and I'll repeat the same. If the 34 band is not tight on you now, maybe you will be fine with it. With the cup size, check if you can put your hand inside your bra whilst wearing it comfortably, that your hand does not get squashed by seams or anything. If not, a B might be the way to go, as LittleMoog has said. Try not to wear anything wired when breastfeeding, it might constrict some of the internal tubes and keep the milk from flowing freely, which might result in mastitis, very painful. And as LM has said, you will need a bra to put the breast pads and hide any leakage!!
You have this one in black at £26.40, and this one in white at £28 at Debenhams, both from HotMilk brand in a 34B. I could not find a 34A there. Get an extra 10% off with code FJ23 or TF49, I used the latter a few days ago but in the MSE's main site they have the first. Depending of what you buy, you can apply one or the other (according to the Debenhams codes' thread) but the first one is only available until the 18th. Also SHD1 will give you free delivery if it is not on offer when you order. XC34 for 20% off kids nightwear (not sure if it is still valid).

I have also seen there is a £15 off £20 at Vertbaudet (or however it is spelt) for first time customers, I keep reading about their bedding, anyone here has bought with them?

  • Hello all

Keep losing my password and faffing about with it annoys me so keep forgetting to log in.

I am now 9 days overdue, it is driving me mad. My girls were born spontaneously at +4 and +6 so this is all new to me. Typical boy being lazy! Have had 2 sweeps now, another on Friday and booked for induction on Monday. Totally fed up, my kids are bearing the brunt of my grumpiness and husband is annoying me as he is 'working' at home as he hasn't really got any work on as we thought he'd be on leave by now.

Another baby from my NCT group was born this morning, I'm the last one now :o I did have the last due date, but only by a day! Soooo impatient now, think I'll try and get the midwife to give me a sweep tomorrow. They don't normally do them til 40+12 here.
