sorry to hear you feel this way, me and DH were together for 8 years before we got married, after a few years i would call him my partner as boyfriend sounded a bit lame.
i think the main thing is you are happy and have a strong relationship to bring a baby into. if you are really concerned about the name and you cant afford to get married yet change your name by depol.

Welcome to the newbies!
AMC hugs to you, hope things get moving for you (and for any others overdue/due imminiently!) soon!
griggsy i was so excited to read your post, I left the board halfway through reading it to check my inbox! And yes, I had the 20% off voucher form Toys R Us - yay! We've been waiting for this to come through so we could order up the cotbed deal that we wanted - a gorgeous winnie the pooh one with bedding set, mobile and mattress. Think the deal mean that we saved around £90 - £100 anyway and then with the 20% off we got it for £300 so very pleased! Mum and Dad also said that they were getting that set for us, so pleased that I have managed to save them some money on it!
as for DTD we were everyday but it has gone down to one - three times a week. I don't feel very sexy anymore, and bump does get in the way.OH is very understanding, we are very affectionate still and we always hold hands and stuff - I can't remember who said that they were amazed by the lack of affecdtion shown by the couples in their antenatal class? It was the same at ours! We sat there the whole time holding hands and had a quick kiss in the break!
Dizsie I am in a similar situation; OH is not keen on marriage for various reasons, but I have discussed this with him and said that I do want to get married at some stage. We had an argument - before I even got pregnant, lol! - about what baby's surname would be. he was adamant that it would be his and I was asking how it was fair that they would have the same name and I wouldn't! he does see my point of view and he has now said that he is not ruling out getting married but I think he is just saying that to pacify me! I pointed out to him that he wouldn't like not having the same name as his child so why does he think that i should do it? It's obviously not the only reason I want to get married, but it is important to me. I will be mentioning this again in the few weeks before our due date, and I'll also be dropping the possibility of double-barrelled surnames into the conversation too! Chin up, you're not alone! x0 -
Hey everyone.
Had my 20 week scan today.Everything is normal (apart from the abdominal circumference which is above average but still within the normal range) and we're having a boy.

I don't want to get married much to my OH's disgust but I do want to have the same surname as OH and bubs so am changing my name via deed poll.
Will be quite glad to be rid of my name as an ex decided he liked it and changed his name to it via deed poll then had 15 minutes of fame and went on GMTV and in loads of papers and I hate being associated with it now lol.
I don't mean just the surname either - to clarify I'm Dani Graves and so is he, he didn't even choose the male spelling. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I sort of feel the same, we sort of see marriage as just a day. Weve discussed it, but just cant afford it. I'm now doing to have two children with his name, and i'm dreading when DD starts school in Sept and they think i'm Mrs "Her Surname"
As for DTD, we usually are once or twice a month, sometimes more if we arent tired. Him on top is starting to get uncomfy, i have to keep getting him to lift his chest up, seem to be ok with me on top, or spooning like someone else said.Mummy to Isabella - March 2008 and Daisie - September 2012:A - November 2011 (mc)0 -
Snowy I think nowadays teachers don't jump to conclusions as quickly as they once did. You will just be called DD mum.
Ikkle you intrigued me, are you talking about the guy with the pet girlfriend?Overdraft = £1000 Emergency fund = £2500
