Gaviscon is yukky lol, much prefer tums myself. Antibiotics are very different from paracetemol, and would never work on a cold anyway. The reason Nsaids and cough mixtures can't be used is because they can thin blood, some of the ingredients can affect the functioning of babies thyroid etc and some can also stunt growth etc, plus theres not enough research into them. Whereas paracetamol is good for pain relief, fever, etc and known to be safe so that's why they recommend it.

I think I'm the record holder as far as no bedroom action is concerned. Since DH found out I'm pregnant (I was under 5 weeks) he has not agreed to any action at all. At first he was saying he doesn't want to hurt the baby but from the second trimester onwards he's saying we can't do it in front of the baby. I couldn't persuade him even after my MW said she recommends it for helping the baby out!

Happy due date Robyn, Clarissa and AMC! Sending labour vibes your way!

Had my 41+1 appointment today. MW says she doesn't understand why I'm not in labour yet and that she was sure I'd have the baby by now. She said I'm almost fully effaced and already 3-4cm dilated (sorry, TMI) and if I had my waters broken I would go into labour immediately. So if the baby doesn't arrive this weekend I've to go to the hospital on Monday to have my waters broken  I'm still hoping for labour as natural as possible so please keep your fingers crossed that he arrives by Sunday evening!

Sorry, I'm so excited/scared now that I know baby is going to be here soon that I already forgot what else I was going to say.

    Have a nice day, everyone.

((hugs)) kitten, I hope the time is going as quickly as possible for you. Did you say that they have offered to induce you at 37 weeks? Are you going to have it done or wait?

seems to have slowed down recently but still going well. We will have discussions with the consultant about an early induction, he is keen to induce me at 38/39 weeks but I am tempted at this stage to see if I could get an early sweep instead to see if it will send me over naturally. I will also try all the old wives tales to see if that helps.

With regards to that AMC although sex is recommended apparently oral consumption is more likely to help.

Our hospital also has a birthcentre which looks lovely however you have to have a BMI of <35 when full term. I won't be there plus I want every pain relief going :rotfl:

When I have had bugs (just getting over one now) OH gets me honey, lemon and menthol sweets, they aren't medicated and are just sweets but definitely make a difference.

We were a 3 times a week couple but now a once a week couple with plenty of warm sex (touching and cuddling) between. Haven't been able to do missionary for a while now but fine spoons works for us. Girl on top works but I have to really be in the mood for that plus generally too tired.

Hope the random jumpy post makes sense just writing down while I remember which means it isn't in a particular order. :p

    Kitten, I didn't know that part :)

If the bed is the right height all of you struggling with man on top, how's him standing and you lying on your back with legs off the end of the bed? I've not had a reason to try it yet though, bump's not that big yet :o

With regards to the sex it is your orgasm which can start contractions. You don't necessarily need your OH for that :o

Baby is very well insulated it is more your comfort levels. Lying on your back gets uncomfortable the further along you are. And if you are like me even a hand on my tummy sometimes is too much pressure.
