Hi ladies,
I'd love to join you all, I am 13 weeks today and an due on the 24th of January. I'm feeling generally fine, really tired and sick in the evenings but it's become the norm for me now so I've just adapted.
Everything is going as well as it can be, they are keeping a closer eye on me for a couple of (minor) heart things and as a result I'll have extra scans at 24 and 34 weeks so I'm happy about that.
Really that's about it just now, we told all our close family @ 10ish weeks and as we told our 7 year old DD last week she is now enjoying telling people the news as we see them.
Re nuchal scan/ triple test - they couldn't see the nuchal fold on baby @ my scan on Tuesday, I came back after a walk for a second try with the consultant and as she still couldn't get a close enough view she said to book the midwife at 14 weeks for triple test, the midwife previously had me booked in for 16 weeks but when I told doc this she said "yes, a lot are still doing it that way but we now recommend 14 weeks" I've booked an appointment with midwife for 14 weeks but surely any new guidelines should be implemented by all staff as soon as they come in?!
Morocha- I don't think it's an age thing- I had the triple with DD when I was only 20, and am 28 now. I thought at least the triple was offered everywhere. There seems to be a lot of a postcode lottery with this pregnancy business, not really fair for some ladies.
Anyway hi everyone!!MARCH GROCERY CHALLENGE £118/ £2500 -
Welcome to the thread mintedby30 and morocha - nice to see you over here now.
minted I hope the sickness eases up soon - mine started to go around weeks 14-16.
Morocha I had the combined nuchal translucency test and blood test, and I was 28 at the time (have had a birthday since then). I think it's just a case of whether the hospital offers it or not - the midwives give everyone the same information as you can choose to have the tests done privately if your hospital don't offer them.
Pleased to hear your echo went well katy.
Lovely to hear your news about moving to be with your hubby and doogie twinklie - it must've been really hard living apart - you'll be like newlyweds all over again!
Well got to go as Moon's just finished dinner.
Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

Rebekha, your baby girl is gorgeous! Well done
I had my 28 week appointment today. I'm 29 weeks really but needed to get a Fit to Fly note to cover me flying to Ireland next weekend, so delayed it by a week. It was nice. I had a student midwife, had my blood taken (wasn't expecting that!), tummy felt for position, urine test done, heard the heartbeat and had my blood pressue taken. Everything was all good and fine.
For those who aren't on our facebook group, these are my 4D scan photos of our little boy from last week, at 28 weeks:0 -

I very much doubt it...:rotfl: I can hardly move my bum off the sofa. I think we'll skip the newly weds and go to an old married couple. I've not the energy to be a newly wed again. I'll let him stroke my legs, that'll be all the action he gets until I get this little man out. The thought of anything beyond that is hideous to me at the minute. Yay rjh, so no more reason for c section now?! Did baby come at graduation today? You seem so ready for him and you're only due a week ahead of me
Rebekah, that's the youngest baby I've seen and what a beautifully expressive one little lady is!!
Is kittenpie doing okay? Missed her recently. Hubby was actually quite nice yesterday and I've had a really good time with friends tonight and the possibility of a lay in tomorrow morning, if this wriggly baby co-operates but now he is at the pub with friends?
I had something else to say but no idea what...! hugs to all and labour vibes where appropriate, especially robyn, AMC and silly moo! Starting to think these first babies really do want to be late?!
twinklie, Croeso i Cymru!! how exciting you get to see hubby again properly, hope you aren't too frazzled and really enjoy the break from school xxx

Always lurking around
Feeling antisocial as I have read I have replied to everyone in my head and by the time I come to post I have forgotten everything. Or think I have replied and then realise that I haven't, oops
So universal hugs to everyone.

Morning ladies,
Happy due date Robyn, Clarissa and AMC
Welcome Morocha and mintedby30. Morocha do you want adding to the list? If so what's your EDD? Minted, I'll add you just now.
((hugs)) kitten, I hope the time is going as quickly as possible for you. Did you say that they have offered to induce you at 37 weeks? Are you going to have it done or wait?
I went to my first antenatal last night, no biscuits or tea like LMM, but still it was very good. We discussed labour options, pain relief and location. Our hospital has two units; a labour unit and a birthing unit. The birthing unit is midwife led and is new and can be used if you've had a problem free pregnancy. If you need to have epidural or c-section or other intervention you get transferred to the labour unit which is just downstairs. The birthing unit has no traditional hospital beds, they have sofas, birthing balls, monkey bars on the walls (for if you want to stand or squat) and there is one pool there and one pool in the labour unit. The birthing unit does have pull down double beds should you have to stay overnight so partners can stay. They try to get you out in about 4-6 hours though most of the time. I like the idea of the birthing unit do as long as it isn't full I'll be going for that option.
Next week we are looking a feeding, she said they cover both bottle and breast and they discuss advantages and disadvantages of both and said they don't try and push breast feeding, which I think is great. They show a video about breast feeding but the show it at the end of the class so that if you want to ff and don't want to watch you don't have to.
Anyway enough waffle from me, hope you all have a nice day.

Rebekah - huge congrats to you, she is gorgeous. Also love the idea of putting a short video on You Tube, that could work well for us as we have family overseas!!
AMC & Robyn - Congrats for reaching due date we are now boldies! I had the most strange nights sleep. Was up and down to the loo as per usual but thought I was having pains, however not sure whether I dreamed them or whether they were actually there. I'm having slight twinges this morning / little back ache but not sure i'd say its anything significant... Will keep you posted.
Robyn - hope the family are not driving you insane already! Also out of interest where are they from? My hubby is from CT and yes already been getting the 'have you any news' text messages!! Already warned hubby he's also likely to get a lot too!!
AMC - I have a 41 wk appointment on 27th to discuss the sweep / induction if I need it. Hoping that won't be the case as we defo wont be able to get into birth centre!!
Emsbet - We are going for the birthing centre at our local hospital if all goes to plan. Its a much nicer environment.
