  • Hi all,

Sorry been awol since I de-lurked!

We had our anomaly scan yesterday and we're on team pink :) Consultant had previously requested I be booked in for 4 weekly scans and i had no idea why, so yesterday the sonographer translated his awful writing and apparently he perceived there to be a risk the baby will be '!!!!!! in growth terms' however at both scans now she's been 'perfectly normal' so she has kept growth scans for 28 and 36 weeks so as not to annoy the consultant by ignoring him totally and I also said i'd like to see bubs again :D

Had a VERY disappointed Mr at the time, but he woke me up at 3am this morning to let me know he's really excited about having a lil girl and can't wait for 'daddys princess' to arrive :rotfl: my response really wasn't befitting a princess though ha ha!

Hope everyone is well, will read back and catch up now!

snowy, sorry to hear that about your DD and also how you feel. i really hope the counsellor helps and that is quite good of the GP to give you a number to get it sorted as soon as possible. i am sure that during some point in our lives, we go through down periods and sometimes they just go away (and we are allowed to feel down at times too). I really hope things go well at the counsellor. i know its different but when my sister passed away i had to go for a few sessions as i was very down and had guilty feelings. hugs to you. xxx

  • Rebekah many congrats to you! I can't watch teh vid (stupid work internet policy!) but will look later on! Have you got a few names to choose from?

Snowyz sorry you feel that you haven't had much support from your GP :-( could you phone your midwife and explain your concerns to her? She may be able to advise better and put some of your concerns at rest. I'm not a fan of antidepressants anyway, but it is important that you get the help that you need and that you are supported. Definitely mentioned the incidents at the nursery as well, even if DD only has 7 weeks left I would still be raising my concerns that she has come hom injured at the hands of another! Bug hugs, hope you feel better soon!

Had a result at B&Q with the paint saga- they have refunded the cost of the paint (£60) so pleased with that. They admitted the colours were nowhere near the same and that there is a problem with their machine!

Rups you definitely need to worry less! You need to relax and enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can - if you stress about every little thing you will drive yourself insane! I know it is hard when you are not sure if things are 'normal' and you know that we are all here to support you but try not to worry so much!

Congratulations Rebekah, she is beautiful... You could sit and watch their little movements and facial expressions all day!
Can't wait for mine to arrive now!
36+2 today... Had some funny muscle pains under my bump... Mainly from when I've been sitting down its like my muscles contract and then as soon as I stand it feels like they are being ripped apart.. Really sore but nothing midwife seemed concerned about!
    anyone else had the same??

AMC - our going home outfits sound very similar.. Mines a little white/ pale cream long sleeved top with same coloured jersey dungarees over top and it's got a little star embroidered on front with words 'little star'.
Got it from next but a bit peed off as they had it reduced in last weeks sale:(

Anyway 4 more days at work til maternity leave... Can't wait!:j

    Afternoon all!

Lovely video of ladynoname Rebekah! She's so cute! Can't believe she was only 5lbs13oz - how dinky.

Just picked up a few baby blankets from someone on freegle (1 cellular, 2 fleece), so need to add them to my washing pile. The soapnuts were dispatched yesterday, so hopefully should arrive tomorrow, and then when we get the furniture from Ikea on Sunday, I can start on my nesting next week. :)

Well I'm going to make the most of my afternoon off work and do some chilling out, as it was very difficult to wake up this morning (I think with everything that went on yesterday, I didn't really have a chance to stop all day).

Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Hugs to everyone feeling down or worried today. Seems like a bit of a stressful time for most people at the moment,

Sexymouse- hope things are OK now with your parents, i know its hard but try not to worry about it too much.

Katy- I think its good that GP wants to do some research rather than just prescribing stuff, I guess you could look at it like she is interested in your case and wants to spend time on it rahter than just give you drugs and send you on your way, IYKWIM.

As for me, saw the consultant this morning and bubba has definately turned to head down, although is not engaged at all yet. Booked in for a sweep with her at 39+5 if baby not here by then. Can only have sweeps, the 'hook' or a c-section so hoping sweeps work as I do not want to go over. My belly is now covered in tiny blood blisters which I think will turn into stretch marks.

Dropped mum and dad off at thr train station today as they are off on hols for 2 weeks, have been given stirct instructions not to have the baby before they come back, but I am going to ignore them and do loads of walking about, having a hot curry tonight and whatever else I can think of to get this baby moving. I may even let DH get lucky!

Hope everyone is OK, and congrats to rebekah on your gawgus girlie!

    She's lovely Rebekah!

DayDreamBeliever - congratulations on being team pink. That sounds quite sweet of your OH (in the end), and at least it didn't take him too long to come round to the idea.

snowyz - hugs to you, sounds like you are having a rotten time. I don't really have any advice, but I hope they manage to help you out.

Rups - hope you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, well done on the attitude change :) I didn't make that decision to chill out until I got past 20 weeks, so you're doing better than me!

I've seen the cardiologist this afternoon and my echo results came back fine (well, the same as always anyway, lol!). It doesn't look like this pregnancy is having any extra affect on my heart and he is quite happy, so I won't have to see him again :)

Perhaps the reason i'm so chilled is that my mum does enough worrying for the both of us??

I also like to think my lovely nanny is up in heaven watching over us xx
