Mishka I have some newborn and some 0-3 clothes so hopefully I'll have something that fits him and I'm quite happy having him photographed in a vest or sleepsuits. If the pictures are crap my FIL is a photographer so I can get him to take some if needs be

Sillymo, fingers crossed things start moving for you soon. I wouldn't worry about DH not having his bag as long as you and baby have what you need. It's his hard luck if he forgets something he wanted packing in a rush

Hi everyone,

No internet for over a week :mad: but I've managed to log in today from my friend house:j.

Congratulation for everyone who had their babies safely delivered recently.

Welcome to all the new mums-to-be. Can't believe you push me down to 80s!!! I was sooo happy being in the 70s group...:D

AFM, had my 16 weeks MW appointment this week. We heard the heartbeat and it was the most beautiful thing ever. Looking forward for our 20 weeks scan....

Thanks for the feedback moneypuddle and ikkle. Having looked around the internet it seems that Kiddicare aren't particularly cheap for most of the pushchairs anyway, so I'm glad I didn't rush a decision. Considering they have a price promise in place I really expected them to be good value, which they always were when my kids were babies, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Now hubby has decided I can start buying baby stuff most of the sales have ended. Typical, lol!

Does anyone know if Asda's next baby event will be before October? I thought they happened every couple of months and didn't even look at the one the other month, now I'm wondering if I should've paid more attention!

photography - I'm not sure how many hospitals have photographer's coming round. They didn't at the two hospitals that I have been to before (and nobody came round with the Bounty packs either). I've decided to go to a local photographer and get shots of the kids together, that way I can give them out as pressies at christmas.

SillyMoo All pregnant women develop resistence to insulin for some reason and in some cases this can lead to temporary diabetes. I think GTT's are offered to those that are considered more susceptible, so if you are overweight, smoke, over a certain age or if there is any history of diabetes in the family you will be more likely to be given the test. My sister is diabetic so that's why I had to have one (that plus I am over that 'certain age'!

KatyLiz I am sure that I posted about the next Asda event a few months ago, but baby brain has well and truly kicked in! I seem to remember speaking to a lady in customer services who said the next one would be August - I thought that was quite handy cos I am due in Sept!

lots of hugs to you sexymouse, very awkward indeed and i hope your mum and dad can sort it out. i grew up with my dad (who had adopted me) bashing my mum about and i was too young and scared to do anything. its sad though when you see a parent go through that. hope everything goes well. xxxx


Congrats colli, on finding out about your little boy.:) so exciting isnt it? i am still struggling with the decision of whether to findout or not and whether i can keep my mouth shut! haha

am bit tired today. that pain is STILL there and umcomfy. was so annoyed at DH last night. he wanted to get the train home and have his own space! on a packed train, he wanted space from me!!!! grrr. ok i get it men are weird and want their space nonsense but i just got upset. then he said i am watching him as he looks around! i used to but now cant be bothered as just want to sit. i do feel insecure a lot esp when i find he is staring at another woman, but i am so much better now. he doesnt seem to think so. with my body changing, i am even more like 'does he still find me yummy?' etc so i want to kill him at times. sorry am rambling. so went home in a bad mood and for the whole night he was giving me the silent treatment. then we stayed up to watch supernatural till nearly 1! in silence! he rushes me in the morning to walk to the bus stop and i cant rush around! grrrr men are so annoying!

also DH bought me some pregnacare max the other day! man those tablets are huge and whenever i take them i want to throw up! these are ok to take arent they? i wanted to get a cheaper version but he went ahead and got me those after the midwife said to switch to those.

Rups Hun. You've been to epu and know that everything is fine with bubs and that ache is from bubs growing etc. your gonna be pregnant for a few months yet hunni get used to it. I know it worries you but you know baby is fine and he's got lots more growing to do yet, wait till he's kicking your ribs or cervix lol xx

I can't comment on the man thing cos I'm a bit too laid back with my oh, just remember he didn't marry anyone else he married you, because he loves you. Sometimes he will want time to himself sometimes you will. You have to remember that whilst you have the physical changes going on he is going through this too. At antenatal class they discussed this last night - what happens to a man when their partner is pregnant? Most of it is fear. They have a natural instinct to be the hunter gatherer figure, they worry can they provide for both of you, will they be a good dad, will you still want them, how can they bond with the baby, how do they not get pushed out, how will they know if something is wrong with the pregnancy and so on. Sometimes the distance thing can be a defence mechanism as they worry they will get hurt. My OH said what if I don't bond with him because you get the skin to skin contact, you get to breast feed him, what if he just doesn't like me? And I never knew he felt that way.

And yes pregnacare max is fine to take.

Thanks ikkle. never saw it that way. i guess just been thinking about the baby. our neighbour teases us when he sees us and says when the baby is here, no one cares about the dad, and i felt sad for them thanks for that. guess last night with the overflow of emotions and hormones, i didnt think straight and just went into attack mode. i try my best not to be moody but when i am tired and achey it may appear i am moody, but am not, if you know what i mean?

Thanks MMM, that'll be good timing for me too. Asda are busy promoting all the back to school bits at the moment, and I was hoping they'd do the baby event as the next thing after that.

Rups - It seems like a lot of people's other half's are struggling a bit at the moment and behaving a bit strangely, so try not to let it get you down. Just look forward to that scan date, and how great that is going to be
