i went for avery short walk to get a fizzy drink but i couldnt walk. i was so slow. i came back and now have a back ache. maybe i need to leave work a bit earlier for mat leave? how long are you all leaving before the d-date?

Do any of you have one of those nursing/maternity pillows? Are they useful? I think I'd like one just to cuddle into when OH is at work but not sure if it'd be worth the expense!

Sorry, overexcited.

I finish at 36 weeks, which is friday. I've taken a weeks' annual leave and my maternity starts on the 12th November.

I've been running out of steam for the last couple of weeks though, they've been a bit of a struggle.

Stopping 6 weeks before due date. This was the stage I stopped with DS and was glad i did - PGP got too bad. So am stopping at 34 weeks again this time just in case. using up annual leave before maternity kicks in.

SpiderWestCider - I have a Boppy pillow for feeding. Love it! I also have a V shaped pillow I got from Lidl which isn't suppotive enough for feeding but I used it in bed the last time for between my knees etc to help my hips and have started using it for this again - it's been handy.

ohh sarara i am so jealous! I have 5.5 days of annual leave to use and with that i can leave at the end of november but am soo tempted to add another week onto it. at this rate i dnt know how i will last!!!

spiderwest, i got one of those long pillows from argos and it helps on some days and then was at my mums and found she has those v shaped ones and that is comfy too as can put one bit between my knees when bent and the other bit sits under belly. for the past few days though been getting very restless in bed and tossing and turning is so difficult.

I've been sleeping with an ordinary pillow between my knees for the last 2 months! Cured the hip-ache I was getting in work

what do you do about your bumps though? i find it so uncomfy on the side.:( i feel that i am squashing baby on the side. then i somehow wake up on my back!! aghhh

If I lie on my right the baby kicks the bed. Can't lie on my back at all... too uncomfortable. I always have slept on my left and the baby likes it too just have to make sure I don't lean over too much. I did try propping my belly up so I couldn't roll on it but it just made me feel awkward.

I have a wedge shaped pillow from Mothercare, which I've used since early on. I tuck it under my bump to support it when I'm sleeping on my side - otherwise I wake up with sore muscles! I like it because it's very small, so easy to rearrange when I turn over about 50 times in the night. I think one of the dreamgenii style ones would be a lot more cumbersome.
