  • I'm just baking a batch of cherry and oat cookies, then planning on making some cheese biscuits too. Love baking at home and haven't felt up to doing much since I started mat leave.

I'm having my 'not a baby shower' do tomorrow- my friends are taking me out for a cream tea which will be lovely:D. My LO will be at nursery too so now charging about after a toddler for me.

I think clumsy is par for the pregnancy course, Rups :p. I am dreadful (and I'm pretty bad anyway). Worst thing for me is that I don't have much feeling in my lower stomach (I assume this is a side effect of my c-section last time) so I am awful for burning it on the oven as I don't realise how far in front of me it is, then I don't feel it touch the hot oven . Nightmare, lol.

    Hi

Firstly there is actually no statutory right for employees to take bank holidays or public holidays, with or without pay, apart from special rules for shop workers on Xmas day .Any rights that an employee has to bank or public holidays, with or without pay, will be contained in their contract of employment. Where someone is given bank or public holidays off and is paid for them, they will count towards their entitlement to statutory holiday unless the contract states they are extra.

A women on ordinary maternity leave continues to accrue holidays because all of the employee's usual contractual terms continue to apply at this time. This means that she will continue to accrue her statutory and contractual paid holidays during ordinary maternity leave in the same way as if she were at work, and that her usual conditions regarding holiday entitlement will apply.

I hope this clears some stuff up for some of our ladies... I think I might go and pop it into the other pregnancy forums? Obviously after someone tells me that it might be useful to them too. Don't wanna make a pain of myself :)

:D I went for this one in the end but was picky on the colours I wanted, so ended up getting it from the Netherlands! Most sling libraries have one to try out it seems but very few UK sellers.QUOTE]

Savage - which website did you use to get your JPMB wrap? I think i really like this one but researching costs a bit at the mo!

    Good morning girls !!

Did everyone have a good night sleep ? I did, only got up once during the night. Thinking about what i am doing today.... it is raining and i dont like it, it is already to cold for me... man i need warm weather, i wasnt made for cold.
Yesterday i was feeling a bit sad cos i bought 2 baby boxes of clothes in a FB group, they are lovely(£20 for 2 boxes 0-3&3-6) and i enquired about other box full of items(0-3) for £20 in excellent condition too ( should pick it up this weekend) I feel cheap, i mean i have bought brand new clothes for my baby, mainly outfits but i am not lying if i say 10 items.
I bought a brand new quinny pram and car seat, tomme tippee bottles,, ordering the cot, mattress and sheets after holidays, so it is not all second hand but still i feel guilty.

I got mine from BabyMaxi, which is based in the Netherlands. JPMB themselves didn't have the colour I wanted. The only UK seller didn't seem to have stock of the colours I liked either! (this one: still out of stock: http://www.lovetobenatural.co.uk/je-porte-mon-bebe-jpmbb-charcoal-grey-plum.html)
I ended up paying £71.90 via paypal (just checked).
This is the other UK seller I found (again not the colour I wanted, picky I know...) http://www.babycalm.co.uk/product/Je-Porte-Mon-Bebe
If you are happy for a second hand one there's a very fast moving facebook group called "Slings and Things - FSOT and advice" but they don't seem to have many of these up (and you need to be up with the lingo, I think they tend to abbreviate it as JPMB or JPMBB - can't remember which of the letters was duplicated!!).

Don't be ridiculous, most of our stuff is second hand - we were given a lot by a friend and almost all the clothes I've bought have been second hand. Much better for the planet too - the planet your little baby is going to have to live in :)
