morocha same here. In Kenya there were no second hand things nor charity shops. when i fisrt moved here ithought getting stuff from charity shops was weird, but i slowly embraced the idea. stuff like toys etc from charity shops make such lovely presents for younger kids. i know what you mean though and my mum too. she had got me stuff from asda so i washed that and will put that for baby. lolBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

It's certainly down to the individual! If you want to get from new and money isn't an issue then go for it! Everyone should do what they feel comfortable doing. Just saying that you shouldn't feel bad about it if you do get some second hand clothes. You can always sell them on again if you aren't happy.0

Morning ladies
Didn't get back on yesterday as I met a friend straight after the mw, then dashed round Tesco before going to our NCT postnatal (haha, I wish!) support group - it's just coffee at the house of a girl who had her baby in March, but it was nice to chat. 2 other girls from my class came too, and we got to play with some lovely babies
My naughty baby has turned back to back since 2 weeks ago, so today I'm mostly sitting on my ball and scrubbing the floors on all fours in an attempt to get them to turn the right way roundno need for the nesting instinct now! I'm feeling very grumpy about it, not sure why. It's very irrational to be cross.with the baby
:rotfl:
The next girl due in my NCT group is going in for induction today, so fingers crossed we'll get some nice baby news to cheer me up soon!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Irrational LittleMoog - but totally understandable - contrary baby! You still have time for baby to turn again! My brother was head down and engaged at 38 weeks, had reversed to breech at 39 weeks and was back to head down and engaged at 40 weeks. Mum insisted on induction at this point! Lol!0

I got mine from BabyMaxi, which is based in the Netherlands. JPMB themselves didn't have the colour I wanted. The only UK seller didn't seem to have stock of the colours I liked either! (this one: still out of stock: http://www.lovetobenatural.co.uk/je-porte-mon-bebe-jpmbb-charcoal-grey-plum.html)
I ended up paying £71.90 via paypal (just checked).
This is the other UK seller I found (again not the colour I wanted, picky I know...) http://www.babycalm.co.uk/product/Je-Porte-Mon-Bebe
If you are happy for a second hand one there's a very fast moving facebook group called "Slings and Things - FSOT and advice" but they don't seem to have many of these up (and you need to be up with the lingo, I think they tend to abbreviate it as JPMB or JPMBB - can't remember which of the letters was duplicated!!).
Oohh Savage - i think I like this colour! http://www.lovetobenatural.co.uk/je-porte-mon-bebe-jpmbb-elephant-grey-mango.html
I have no idea why!!!:rotfl:0 -

I haven't bought a single outfit. Only 2 outdoors snowsuits because they were such a bargain (£12 each) at TkMaxx. The rest are gifts, clothes that have been passed on and 2nd hand. Save the money for when the baby grows up a bit and people stop giving you clothes lol. My DH would not wear 2nd hand and has a thing for branded stuff. I buy most ofy stuff on eBay and low cost shops. He has less clothes but top quality, I have more but mainly cheap, but it makes sense to me, fashion.items are outdated quickly, I rather buy very cheap and have money to replace than having to wear the same stuff for ages. DH buys very neutral standard branded clothes , so they never are outdated, but it is not the case with mine. I see the baby's clothes in a similar way, I do not want to spend silly money in something she will wear for a month or less, she won't care. And I am not spending money to please anyone else when the baby clothing is usually almost new because it has so little wear. I rather spend that money.when she starts walking in comfy shoes, coats or good durable jeans and jumpers. For the time being, I am happy getting second hand and gifts.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*
