morocha, nice to see you back here. so sorry that the move and then dh, dd being ill came up.it does take it out of one though. i hate moving with a passion even not preg so imagine when one is..hugs hon and try taking it easy too.
bit of a sore throat today.am at home working again. i couldnt manage waking up and going in. am exhausted. the doc did say considering that my iron was all fine last month and my blod sugar too, he said to just sit and relax. the thing is now with my handover at work, its getting hard to even pull a sickie as i need to be there to show the new girls. stuff. sigh.. i am so tempted next week to just call in sick for 2 days. dont know where this sore throat has come from?
babymonster2 thanks for your advise. iwas being melodramatic. lol. i know he means well and yes weight has been such an issue for me. the thing is before imet dh, i was huge so i lost weight, went to the gym etc and he met me at my best. i suppose now he is seeing me as this bg whale and he said once in a jokey way that i better get back to what i was before. at the end of the day these men are so shallow. ok at least he is doing somehting about his belly but him and his family are obsessed with weight stuff.. i want to look good so def will do smething later. dont like being moaned ati know he means well. he came to bed and we kissed good night and all was forgotten.
i am tired. better work. grroan.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Aida - re vitamin K. It's to do with blood clotting and google will scare you if you read the worst case scenarios. Vitamin K helps in clotting and babies are born with less of it and at more risk if they have a bleed. It is given shortly after birth. You can opt to have an oral dose administered but you have to remember to get the second oral dose at I think 4 weeks old. Injection is only once. We opted for DS to have it - don't think he even noticed the needle to be honest. He certainly didn't cry. (In fact I have no memeory of him crying at all in the delivery room now I come to think of it. might have been the pethidine but no one was worried so I wasn't either. Must ask DH sometime if he did!) In short it's a personal choice thing for you and your OH to decide if you want your baby to have it.
Had a good read (on the internet) and I think I will opt for one. I'll need to speak to my husband but I'm sure we will agree to me.
Not long now and you'll be off. Just hang in there.

hi ya zcrat... i think so, in Argentina we dont count weeks, we count months... so here it goes .At 27 weeks is 7 months.27-30 weeks is 7 months and 31-34 is 8 months and 35-birth is 9 monthsMejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0

Scottishchick - he likely did - I really can't remember but then much of my labour with him is a blur thanks to pethidine! Lol! I really hope this is things starting for you. Fingers crossed!
I had pethidine too and all I can remember while pushing was answering the questions on a quiz that was on the radio at the time :rotfl::j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0 -
Vitamin K Just got an email from one of the many weekly newsletter and was saying that is now time to think about Vitamin K whether I want to give my baby a suppliment of that. Any thoughts of why or why not to give our little ones Vitamin K? I'm reserching now about it but any thoughs will help...
There is a super-rare form of vitamin K deficiency which could cause horrible complications should your baby have it. There are two ways of giving vitamin K, an injection at birth, or orally over 2 or 3 doses. NICE guidelines recommend the injection at birth I think, although there was one study which found a link between the injection and childhood cancer, which has since been discredited. I've opted for the injection, you don't want to be one of the few whose baby has this strange condition and regret not giving it to your baby and the study with the link seems to have been discredited as I'd mentioned.0 -
PS Aida - I had a leaflet on this in my maternity notes pack (vitamin K) - and midwife asked about it at 34 week appointment when she was going through birth plan0

ps. thanks for the feedback regarding the car seat. i was told if you dont have 4-door then the seatbelt one is annoying but we have 4 doors, so that shouldnt be a problem. everyone is going on about how isofix bases have been tested for safety etc. i am sure the other ones are too right? think we shall stick to out graco evo. we both loved it.
thanks

Rups - I had a 3 door with no isofix so had to put the car seat in with the belt. I just climbed in to the back and belted him in. It was fine for me and didn't bother me until he got too heavy and my muscle weakness started to affect my ability to get the seat into the back. You do what works for you.
Number of doors is irrelevant and an isofix base is handy but not essential especially if you get the seat belted in properly HOWEVER......
The only thing you must be sure of is that your seatbelts will go round the seat when it is rearward facing. not every car has long enough seatbelts in the back. We had this problem in DH's car (Mazda 3) and the belts just would not go round the car seat although there was no problem in the Fiesta or in the Hyundai we got to replace it. We had to get an isofix base for DH's car in order to put the baby seat in.0 -
