hi guys..how are you doing? hope everyone had lovely evenings and still are.
moneypuddle, great that you have a date now, so looking forward to some news next week :)

went to the doctors and asked about the jabs and she recommended i take both the flu and the whooping cough one, so ladies please book it too. she said its important, even the flu one. i wasnt so sure of flu one but she said get it done. i had one last year on nov/dec so she said no harm now. i hope not...

then we went to our nct class at 8 - 10 in croydon and it was lovely. all intro and we chatted about pelvic floor exercises, stages of labour in pictures and discussion and some breathing at the end listening to music. was nice. the people i met were nice. all of us were 8 alltogether, 4 couples. so nice. i can see myself keeping in touch with them too.:) so it was nice esp as me and dh were tired before we left home. ;)

sitting watching tv now, and i am off to bed soon. tired as always. had some toast and some milk. :)

    Hey everyone.

Met my new care co-ordinator today (it's a mental health thing) and she seems nice, although she only works two days a week and is "bank staff" so doesn't have a contract. Hoping that she doesn't leave and then I have to get used to yet another new person!
She was full of a cold though but sat across the room from me because she didn't want to give it to me. It's hard enough having a cold when you have M.E, but imagine having a cold, M.E and being pregnant too and I can imagine just having a cold when having a normal pregnancy with no other problems can be hard going also!

Got a splitting headache all across my head and at the base of my skull though. :(

Cake - We learned three types. (1) In for four, out for four - think this is for the in betweeen contractions (2) In for four, out for eight - think this is at the height of the contraction (3) Huff, puff, blow (2 short, 1 longer) - this is the panting to help you if the midwife says stop pushing or wants you to pant the head out. That was literally it. I was dizzy after the panting! :rotfl: - I say I think that was when you are supposed to use those breathing exercises because I can't remember and neither can my helpful backup of OH. I'm positive the midwife would tell you during labour what you needed, particularly the panting bit.

I found I only needed one type of breathing.. suck iiiinnn on the gas and air, and blow out. :D

Lol Marta, people get my surname wrong too, some of them pronounce it devil... imagine !! mine is nothing like that, as soon as i got married i chose to use DH's surname, i really like his, so i am called now Lidia Ester L... it is an unusal one that i really like, i have told him that even if we ever divorced i am keeping it cos i like it. Anyway his dad treats me as a daughter and would be happy for me to have it lol.
When i am back in Argentina tho, i use my normal surname otherwise people just stares at me, it is way to fancy.

Well ladies, off to paint my little girl's room in the new house, can not believe i will be living there in 2 weeks !

I might do just that morocha, here I use my second surname because it is the same as a premier league footballer and at least people knows how to half pronounce it, but some paperwork have both surnames and I feel sorry for whoever attempts to pronounce them in a row lol. My husband's is short and easy, I guess I could change it on everything but the passport and take with me the wedding certificate when I need 2 proofs of id or something like that. I have been advised not to change it at uni thought, because if I were to go back to Spain they would not recognise it as my degree :( They complicate things, don't they?

I know, its is chaos to change your surname in Argentina but i find in the UK is very easy, you just start calling yourself that and can even get a passport with that name, i find it fascinating it is so easy to change names here, my BIL has done it and my dh's aunty too.

morning ladies. how are you all?

weird you say that about surnames and not having the degree back in Spain. I was very worried when I married DH because I did my Phd and have a DR with my maiden name, but luckily for me, when I changed surname i can still take that DR with me :)phew. i was thinking, all that hard work i did and i lose the title. silly hey?

still on a buzz from the NCT class. couldnt sleep very well and DH was snoring too. Have my side pain again and today its uncomfy. :(

also wanted to ask whether this was true.... i know we are told to have warm baths, but now its getting colder, i get up in the morning and want my hot shower. i love them. are hot baths and showers bad for bubbas?

I'd be more worried about a hot bath than a hot shower tbh as you're more likely to lounge in a bath than a shower, and I think the odds of you overheating are higher in a bath.
As for the advice, I thought it was more weighted towards early pregnancy when it was more dangerous to overheat (but still no saunas or other things). Not to believe the internet but http://pregnancyandbaby.com/pregnancy/articles/937419/are-hot-baths-or-showers-safe seems to agree with my recollection of what I've already read.

Morocha, yes, here it is not a problem and if you have your degrees with your maiden name then it is not an issue back in your home country. I have my degree an MA with my surnames, but I am now starting a PhD so if I change now surnames and I get the certificate with my husband's surname, I might have problems proving it is mine back in Spain because only a name appears, no passport number or id number that could link it back to me. The problem would only be in Spain, not here, as you say you could call yourself whatever and change it officially. In Spain the only circumstance where you could change your surname is in situations like witness protection or where you would be at risk, and you need to go to court to apply, suffer a year+ process and it would not be guaranteed you would get it changed! I could apply fir British citizenship but I would lose the Spanish, they currently do not have double nationality with the UK, and I am not willing to do that atm. My option is to change everything here and leave all the Spanish stuff untouched... but I wonder whether that will create other kind of problems when travelling!!
