Hi, Just had a msg from someone saying to pop on here,
I had gestational diabetes, it was insulin controlled and metformin controlled,my levels went really high towards the end especially,
Whatever I ate made no difference and I got quite a few occasions of hypos though thankfully always kept the jellybeans close by.
My baby was delievered at 37.5 weeks by C section, her blood sugars were checked after every feed and until she had 3 normal readings in a row we couldn't go home.
My case was on the severe end, I was 39, with an Ivf Frozen baby, so had many risk factors. The hospital will monitor you closely and you should be fine, just do what they tell you to the letter.
If you do have to inject insulin, it really is painless, the finger pricking also after the first few times hardly hurts.
Any other help feel free to pm me,good luck

Bamama, yes these babies are my 1st, though DH has 2 sons in their 20s from his 1st marriage. Theyre non-identical and were from a frozen ICSI cycle. What a lovely christmas present you'll have!
Moneypenny, Im feeling cheated now in regards to our antenatal classes! Might have a look on youtube and see what I can find on there. I feel like I should know how to breathe 'properly' IYKWIM
Having lots of BH again today. Wish they would just get on with it and turn into the real thing! I know I shouldnt say that really as its still a bit early for them:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -

Taadaa, I wasn't offered at my last appointment but I was only coming up to 28 weeks (apparently it's on offer from 28 weeks on?) So maybe next appointment. A few ladies were saying yesterday that they've had it, along with a flu jab. Could always ring up and check to see if you can have it.
Extra exciting for you then Cake. Lucky you have some support from DH who's been through it. This is my first so all new for me and the OH. Everyone keeps refering to Squirmy as a Christmas present... which I'm hoping is true but then again if I go over then it's gonna be one uncomfortable Christmas and a longer wait for my aunties birthday party lol!0 -

I am Spanish and my husband is English, we chose a name that was the same in both languages; like morocha said, it is already difficult for me to get people to write my names right, my data gets lost in databases due to spelling or not knowing if my surname is a middle name or a double barrel. Since my life is here, I wanted an English name or one that was the same. I want my family to be able to pronnounce it, but also my baby's future classmates. I will teach her my native language and all that, but I am happy with English names. In fact, I might get my husband's surname just so I can stop spelling my two Spanish surnames! Lol I am not allowed to change surname under Spanish laws.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

My friend's brother is English but married a Lebanese lady. They had to choose a name that worked in both languages because the Lebanese family couldn't speak a word of English. They came up with Emily Layla as a compromise but really they only had about 10 names to choose from including Alex, Karena, Yasmine etc which I think made it really difficult!0

Well weren't you just an awkward child Moog :P
We've picked a boy's and girl's name. Boy's is Welsh first English middle, girl's is English first Welsh middle. With a very typical Welsh surname. Some people may struggle with pronunciation from reading them (once you hear them you'd be ok) but most people within Wales would know them as they aren't uncommon.0
