cheqmate (sp?), I am not sure there is anyone in this thread with gestational diabetes, but you could try on the newborn thread, if any of them had it, they will certainly be able to tell you what worked for them from diagnosis right up to birth. There is a lot of sugar hidden in cereal bars and dietary/light products and ready meals
she could fill up a diary with the food intake, and write down sugar content, it is very easy to misjudge any intake if you are not obviously overindulging. I was putting a lot of weight a couple of years ago and I was convinced I wasn't eating that much, but when I started to write everything down I realised that just by changing the brand of certain products I was eating many more kcal than before. It might be something similar, tiny amounts do add up quickly. Sorry I have no real advice on how to deal with GD or how to bring it to normal levels

with names Rups you could always sneak a peak at your bit of paper with the sex on and say to your hubby he can name the baby if he's a boy and you'll choose if she's a girl (or vice versa depending on what it says)

Hello ladies  Thanks for the labour vibes.
Well no baby news from me, except that I have my induction booked for Monday, when I'll be 41 weeks and 4 days! Yay. Just excited to have an end date in mind now, but also scared and all sorts of other emotions too.
Quick question - we have bought a monitor with video http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12067031 and need the baby unit to point at the baby so the camera can see him but can't seem to find anywhere suitable to put it. When they are very small is it ok to put it in the actual cot or is that dangerous. Am thinking dangerous due to the lead.
moneypuddle (41 weeks) x0 -
Moneypuddle, glad the end is in sight for you now :j, would imagine it wouldnt be safe to have it in the cot with baby. Would you be able to put a small shelf up temporarily?
We've been given a video monitor that somehow connects to your tv so you can flick the channel over and see how babys doing. No idea how it works as havent looked properly at it yet, but its v v v old!
Cheqmate, sorry Im another who cant help with gestational diabetes. Like Marta said, you may be better asking on the newborn thread
Everyones antenatal classes sound so different from what we had. We werent shown ventouse caps/catheters/forceps or any equipment they may use. And we had 2 lots of antenatal classes too cos we went to the regular ones then went to the multiples classes and they just went over the same things really. I always thought they would be like you see in the films where everyone sits round doing breathing exercises etc!
Forgot to say hi to the new joiners too yesterday. So Hi!:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -
Oooo exciting moneypuddle! I'm struggling with the constant reminders of when the baby is due, 3 days before Christmas and the day before my aunties 70th...
Try not to dread Monday to much and hey! you could still go before then(that's meant to be comforting but I'm not sure why)
Cake - well hello yourself! Twins ^^ how exciting. Your first? Excuse my ignorance being newbetter to ask than go snooping through your posts though lol XD

Hi ya,
DH and I are a mixed couple aswell. We have learned to compromise, he chose our DD1 first name and i chose the second... She is called Jessica April... so no, i didnt got for spanish names... Our new baby girl will be called Jade- my choice- again i did not got for a spanish name as i feel is not fair for the child to have to spell it out everytime... i get to spell my name everytime and my name is Lidia... still everyone writes Lydia and makes it a pain for important documents. I love english names so this was not a problem. I have literally hundreds of relatives so the good spanish names are already taken lol...
Today has been a great day... dd's passport has arrived, it only took 6 days, well impressed !! one less thing to think about, so we are all sorted for our Portugal holidays in November. 2 weeks more and i will be in my new house !! So much to do still...Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0
