  • Congratulations Candycane xx

Re flu and whooping cough jab, I had them both on Monday, 1 in each arm. Not sure which was which but 1 of my arms is so painful! I already had a really bad cold before having them so cant put this down to the jabs, but I called triage midwife at hospital Tuesday evening as my temp was 100.27 . Id read that if your temp goes over 100 it can be harmful to babies so rang for advice really. She asked if babies had been moving all day and I told her 1 had been quiet so she suggested going in for monitoring. Managed to get my temp down by opening windows and having a fan on with wet flannels on me

Anyway, babies were ok. 1 of them slept pretty much the whole time so she said to keep track of their movements today and if I was concerned to go back in. Had lots of wriggles today though :T

Littlemoog, the midwife and consultant did say the babies would probably come early of their own accord. In fact the midwife yesterday said because my uterus will get so big with 2, it will automatically think it should start giving birth! No idea how true that is but it does seem the case that most twins come early.

Had lots of BH again the last couple of nights, woke me up a lot with them too. And more cramps throughout the day so maybe things are getting going. Also strange feelings in my cervix as if a baby is trying to punch its way out!

  • Cake4brains. Glad your temp is better now. It is my whooping cough arm that is sore- I have renewed sympathy for bubbas having their jabs now!

I'm back to work after a few days off with my back- no idea how I will last the whole day but only 8 working days left.

My twin sisters were induced at 38 weeks as they were obviously too comfy! They were both over 8lb as well though, so not your standard twins! Glad the babies were ok at monitoring, hope you're feeling better too, it's horrible having a temperature that high :o

So tired this morning, I was awake for about 2 hours in the night for no reason! grrr! I was so relaxed when I went to bed as been making DH practise the back rub techniques we learnt at NCT (so he's got them perfect for labour ;)) and I was really chilled out. Woke up at 4.30 and then couldn't get back to sleep until 6.30ish. Alarm goes off at 7 so it was a bit pointless really!

Got my appraisal at work this morning, found out yesterday that a girl who's been here less than a year and has far less responsibility than I do was promoted to the next work level (when I've been told I can't be until I have some supervisory/managerial responsibility - I already have responsibilty for others work done on my studies), so am feeling pretty peeved and going to make a fuss, as now I'm going on ML the earliest I can be put to the job evaluation panel is next August, but won't happen probably until 2014  Still, only 4 more working days before ML after today, so will try not to stress too much about it! :D

Sweet Jesus! I've just realised I've munched an entire packet of party rings while my printer was doing it's thing this morning. NOT GOOD!!!
  • Morning all :)

I had the 'flu jab last week which was absolutely fine, and the whooping cough 4-in-1 on Tuesday morning, which did make me feel a little under the weather that day and my arm is still a little sore. I get the 'flu jab every year so that wasn't an issue, and given that babies under 2 months who have contracted whooping cough this year have died because of it, it was a no-brainer for me.

I've been bumpy for ages, I've got a picture of me at 24 weeks and I definitely had a bump - I'm 32+6 now and having to steer myself around things, and keep catching it on doors when I open them towards me! I wasn't that slim to start with, but I've definitely lost weight everywhere else since getting pregnant (despite my cake and chocolate diet). Random, I think it just depends on how you carry it.

I have three weeks left of work. Hurrah! I do need to have a look at my work's maternity policy though because I should be entitled to bank holiday pay and I'm sure they don't offer it...

Thank Sammie, I don't feel so bad now lol. Well I do, they kinda made me feel queezy >< worth it though.

Sa-ra-ra-ra, I swear I could see a bump from around 10wks on. I did lose alot of weight through the stress of finding out (and moving out for the first time) and went down to 7st 6. I've been obsessed with getting some meat on my bones since I was told that I couldn't donate blood at college because I was too light. It wouldn't have been good only being 6 1/2 st at 18...

LittleMoog, why do you have to wait until after ML to go infront of the panel? If it's something they do at a particular time of year, then you can still work 10days of your ML so you could go in when they are doing it.

You know, I hadn't even thought about my name like that XD I just went for something I thought I would remember. I hate banana's too ><

I may be the only person who wants to keep the weight on. My midwife was telling me how breastfeeding can help you lose all that baby weight. She looked at me weird when I started frowning.

I'm not taking any classes. I think they'd only prove to scare me. Though I'll probably wish I had taken some when I've got to deal with labour.
