  • morning all!
    i am soooooooo uncomfortable :(
bubs is breech and back to back and however i sit or stand is painfull, i've had enough! ive literally been pregnant since January 2011 (last baby born sept 2011, fell again in jan 2012) and i'm fr!ggin' knackered!
i'm at the consultant tomorrow to discuss birth options, but seeing as baby is breech he knows i wont want to try turning him so i should get a definate date for a section, which wont be soon enough for my liking.
    Skint, but happy (ish):p
  • Congratulations MummyOfTwo!! Enjoy mummy cuddles!!
Cake - I haven't got the nipple cream yet but it's one of the few things left for me together with the breast pads so I'd thought I'd check on their website. I'm hoping to stop by today so I'll see if there's anything else worthwhile.
Moneypuddle - I'm glad you were feeling a bit better yesterday:) I know what you mean about being bored though. Sometimes having uni work to do is a bless!

7 babies due next week??? So if they all come when due and all the current boldies give birth by the end of next week, I'll be...2 on the list?? at one point many moons ago I was wishing I'd queue jump but I think I'd prefer to stay put for now. Baby has been head down for weeks now but not engaged so I'm hopeful lol. Yes, yes, I know, it'll have to come out at some point. Let me get the moses basket set up first though:o

I remember being a wee bit miffed when you were added to the list as it pushed me one up, I'm so glad you're before me now :D

  • Congratulations Mummyof2!

I've had a great weekend, went to Glasgow on Friday to see Mrs Browns Boys and it was hilarious. Last night we went out with my sister and her partner to a seafood buffet and it was delicious, I ate so much! Today is being spent clearing some things from our lounge to make room for the Moses basket.

I've only got 3 days till I go on holiday from work before maternity leave starts :j:j roll on Wednesday!

  • I might need to get a few more afternoon naps in then!

Twinkle - I'm sorry you're feeling uncomfortable :( I'm not sure what to suggest:( but I hope bubs gives you some rest soon and good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

lol scottishchick - I can totally relate to that! I know I joined the thread a bit late but I can still remember being stuck in the late 60s/early 70s because babies were being born but people kept joining the list before me. I also remember people who were due asking ladies due before them to cross their legs etc and that's how I feel now!! :rotfl:

As this is a Moneysaving site, could you tell me how you are budgeting to take time off work with the baby? I am hoping to take the full year off, but my Baby Fund keeps having money taken out of it for music lessons for the other kids, Property Tax on the house and Car Insurance...I have so far saved the grand total of CAD$0.00 for this little one-help!

We knew my wages would take a huge hit with being on maternity leave. We would be short of more than £1500 per month and have huge bills and mortgage etc, so it wouldn't have been possible for us to have a baby at all without saving. We've now saved just less than £6k which should top my wages up each month. The plan is to take £1,000 from savings each month for 6 months to top my wages back up to somewhere near where it should be. It still won't be as much as I get paid, but should get us a little closer than if we had now savings at all. We've managed it by putting somewhere between £200 and £700 a month away for the last couple of years. I'm also saving now for xmas 2012, so we don't suddenly find it very costly in December

    Congrats Mummyof2!!! :D

I hope you feel better soon Twinkle, we are thinking of going for the second baby "soon", but for what you have just said, maybe I will try to wait a year! I am 34 and a half, and I do not really want (or can) to wait too long for the second one. Plus I always thought that the first years might be chaotic, but once you send them to school they go together and entertain each other when they are home. Not sure if I am being too naive and positive, though! They probably also fight a lot more because they are of a similar age! Lol

I have used a £15 off £150+ online voucher that I had from the Mothercare Club, so I bought the moses, the rocking stand and the Stokke carrier. I tried to push the Ergocarrier, but once DH saw the Stokke he only wanted that one. I think it looks more masculine and strong than any other we have seen, it should last three years and the customer reviews say that it does get used in toddler years with no back pain as long as you set it right, so that is a winner in my home.

I am now looking for that Tippitoes minibath you posted here, I was totally against baths because they were big and difficult to use, but the one you showed me looked very easy and pretty much "hands free". Are you happy with it? Can be used up to 6 months+? Could I use the main bath afterwards?

    Hi everyone!
Sorry I've been MIA for a while...

Elizabeth Jane was born at 00:01 on Wednesday 26th September 2012 after a long, drawn-out labour process. I had every form of pain relief known to the NHS, mostly to enable them to monitor me 'properly'. I'll post a birth story later on but whilst it wasn't what I imagined at all, it actually doesn't matter! I struggled with being in hospital after giving birth and found that the hardest part of all.

Beth is amazing, we are BF-ing and whilst I was ridiculously worried about everything at first, I appear to be chilling out a bit now. I am awfully hormonal and my OH is the one who is being fantastic but we are getting there and loving being our own little family!

  • Hiya ladies :) Not sure if you remember me but I posted a while ago and then disappeared! My story so far is that i've been made redundant so was having a bit of a panic!!

Basically, we moved in with my parents for a while but have now managed to get back into our own place privately rented so am back in my comfort zone! Used my redundancy pay and lump sum SMP payment to pay 6 months in advance on the rent, year up front on the council tax and paid my parents back for putting the deposit on the house and first months rent. Now have about £1500 to put towards our final baby things and to top up hubbys pay. It's not where I wanted to be right now but it's working out ok for us, I will just have to find a job and go back to work earlier or hope by some miracle we win the lottery :o

I will be 34 weeks tomorrow, have consultant appointment on Wednesday after a growth scan and then appointment with the anaesthetist at 2pm, busy day! Having our broadband installed at the new house on Tuesday as well so should be able to join in the posting a bit more :) Think that's enough from me, just mooching around Ebay for some final baby bargains that are on the "need" list!

Congratulations to all the new mummys and good luck to everyone at the top of the list!
