  • Happy due date Candycane!
Well done on submitting your phd mlbarrett. Have you got a date for your viva yet? I'm guessing you'd rather have it before baby is born?
I wonder how KatyLiz and MummyofTwo are doing. Probably having mummy cuddles!!

I don't have much planned for today, might take the dog for a 'long' walk in the park at some point. The most I can walk for is about an hour so not that much of a 'long' walk for her :o

By the way, I know someone mentioned the lansinoh nipple cream on offer as Sainsburys already (thank you!). I just wanted to add that they also have the lansinoh breast pads on offer as well which are supposed to be quite good if anyone is interested.

Labour vibes to all who need/want them!

just popping on for a quick read :) todays the day we should of been getting married until we found out baby girl was on the way and decided to move it to the end of may, was abit of a job to change the dates for everything we had booked up but we done it and instead of going on honeymoon tomorrow we're waiting for our baby girl to make an appearance :D

this is the baby bath i decided to get after reading reviews, i wanted something that could support baby so she wouldnt slip around and that didnt cost stupid money http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tippitoes-BM3-Mini-Bath-White/dp/B0037ZTT2A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1348931371&sr=8-1

This bath is fantastic!! Little man loves it and it makes bath time so much easier and therefore fun...can't recommend it highly enough!

Oh and someone was talking about what to buy and mentioned maternity pads...I really would recommend getting a fair few packs not just one. These were a lifesaver! xx

  • Bikeless, it was me that mentioned the lansinoh cream. Was only a small Sburys that we went to so didnt really notice other things that were on offer. Will have to persuade DH to take me to the main Sburys a few miles away!

Hope you are feeling better Elisabeth

Well done on submitting your phd mlbarrett

Went to a wedding this morning but had to come home at 1pm as I was soooooo tired. Had a bad nights sleep last night so just had a cheeky couple of hours kip :D. Havent got the energy for anything today!

  • I went through 3 packs of maternity pads while in hospital (for two nights) with DS, so I'll be buying 5-6 packs in advance this time.

For those buying 'emergency' formula, I would recommend the little ready made cartons. No waiting for the kettle to boil or cool down and completely sterile. Also if you just want to use them for a one-off feed to give your boobs (or you) a break then you will feel less pressured to use it again just because it is open and there (or that's how I would feel, anyway). I bought a couple of cartons last time, but never used them. I'll do the same this time too though as I do think that it helps mentally to know that there is another option.

My horrible pelvic pain has returned at 30 weeks :( This pregnancy is definitely tougher than the first time. Plus baby is currently breech so I think that is making me more uncomfortable as it feels like there is a head in my ribs (although to be fair, there is :rotfl:).

John Lewis has online some baby sleeping bags 1 (whatever that "1" means) reduced to clear at £12-£15 and a pink moses reduced from £60 to £30.

Edit: the sleeping bags are from 6 months onwards, though. :(

  • Hello!

Thought I'd nip in whilst watching x factor and waiting for my pizza to cook!

Was feeling really down yesterday as started to panic that the baby isn't here yet and I wont have any support over the next few days. As some of you might know my mum has temporarily lost her vision after nursing a patient with an infectious virus (they predict it will now be another 2 weeks before it returns fully). She's coping but its been extremely upsetting and she's worrying she may not get to see my baby be born as I'm due on Thursday. OH doesn't drive (AND is working away on Monday and Tuesday), mum was going to drive me to the hospital and now can't as she can't see, and my back up, my brother, has been injured in a fight (he's a cage fighter, not just a ruffian haha!) and is on crutches so can't drive me either, so not sure anymore how I will get to the hospital anymore. Time is of the essence with getting there quickly as I have GBS and need antibiotics at the onset of labour!

Feeling slightly better about things today but still not sure of how I'll get to hospital. Am sort of thinking of driving myself - is that crazy?? Its not even that far. Just maybe a 5 min car ride, but probably too far to walk, especially if it happens in the night. I'm normally so organised, so this is stressing me out!! The thought of OH still being away and having to walk to the delivery suite alone is whats upsetting me most I think :o

moneypuddle - at 5 mins car drive, I'd call a taxi! How soon in labour do they want you in for the antibiotics - right at the first bit or only when they've decicded you're established?
